Forest,

Yes .. I am a baseball fan. Much less so in adulthood though than as a child. I was drawn to baseball by statistics. What a REALLY interesting application of mathematics. I read book by Bill James about baseball as a young teen and got hooked on sabermetrics, teh statistics of baseball.

http://www.stephent.com/jays/sabr.html

I also read articles by the biologist Stephen Jay Gould on the improbability of Dimaggio's hitting streak and the disappearance of the .400 hitter.

This stuff changed my life. Baseball changed my life. Not in the usual way, however

Nowadays, I'm MUCH more of a football fan.

I will cut-n-paste the numbers for TGP2 Bucks today. Here you go: 1:16

Here is the overall ratio for the entire month: 1:18

Cut-n-paste .. no bullshit. Ask John to do the same thing. You'll get the same answer +/- however much they change in the meantime.

We don't BS .. we cut-n-paste.

Too bad more webmasters aren't honest like John and I. The world would be a better place. I never succeeded at running my own sponsor program because the paysite I had designed for me couldn't convert. I refused to lie about ratios.

I just shopped around and took a job promoting somthing that worked. 1:18 @ $1 = 5.5 cents/click. Now *I'M* happy!

2) Because average IQ of this board is 18 points above industry average

Todd the war on terrorism will be on going for the inevitable future. We may not see most of it, and it may not be in huge military buildups like we have done this time. But make no mistake about it, the United States has to dismantle all terrorist cells.

Not only this, but we also need to make sure we wipe out new ones as they start to develop. Instead of Ranger like my friend working in central america, it will be Rangers working through out the middle east, central asia, and eastern europe.

The war on terrorism - and islamic fundementalism is going to be like the cold war. We will have some flair ups, but the real tricky stuff will go on without the public knowning about it for years afterwards.

I hope this is the case. I hope we can go about life in a normal way again - and into the future. While our brother and sisters in the US Military provide us with this luxury...

Todd being in the military you know as well as I do that out SF have been in low intensity conflicts around the globe for 40 years. Many of these missions never are reported on, and any casualties are listed as other then in combat.

A good friend of mine who was a ranger was shot in the 80s in Central America. He still cannot tell us where, or how. He says it was a training exercise... but we know other wise.

Mike,

I checked out that site, first time there. It does seem a little shaky, but who knows. The part about Iran starting to train so rebels isn't so great, hate to see them in the loop also.. Our Special Forces troops dying, hmm not sure on that. but in the past many times, if such things happen, we are not always quick to release that info.. Remember bush has to keep the public on the "war" side as long as possible. 80-90% of americans polled want a strike back now or soon, but how long will that last, who knows.. Over 1 year or so, I think we will start seeing public approval and opinion on this turn the other way..

Hi all,

I see it's the oldies but goodies discussion today:)

I do remeber al's 1 or 2 cents proggie, but I seem to belive Ron might have been first. All I know, in 1995, we registered our first domain name, had our bbs Rose City Online at 60 lines, was selling the heck out of adult cdroms, and life was very good:) Damm has it almost been 7 years on the net now?

Before Mosaic really was released I was putting out ads every day on usenet, alt.sex, etc. It was like a gold mine. Our store was called Cdworld, so we even got alt.cdworld.marketplace :) started that for the adult cd's and for a couple of years or so it took off pretty good..

The old times are great, but this new century seems even better:)

it'd be nice to see him win.:)

Undermarketed, rough, but polite in interviews.I mean if trinidad had learnt english over the last few yrs he could be adding a number to his purses...therefore he ain't very bright, also the good guy role isn't very challengingt ;))

Hey,you guys need me,so you can point and say "there goes the bad guy" ;)))

I would like to wish every one luck tomorrow in the football pool.

I kept my strategy from the last time and picked my fav colours and the teams I love.

Last Sunday while watching one of the games I was informed American football has different rules and regulations than Canadian.
I was wondering about that fourth down.
More downs and a shorter field.

That is my FYI for the day.

Cheers and good luck.

hahah Colin, yup, maybe we'll have a mensa meeting at one of these upcoming shows ;)

I think we need an adult webmaster robot for next season of "battle Bots" maybe use a couple dildoes as spears and have the robot in the shape of a big ass...

Vickk, White Rain? It was ok, but I hated the smell...Aqua Net had that lovely asthma attack inducing smell to it...stunk like all get out, but that shit would hold forever...when I was doing stage pyros, we used Everclear instead of harispray (Everclear was relatively cheap, but hairspray was expensive ;))))

My dad used to always complain about his son and daughter fighting over makeup and fishnets...I always used MaxFactor and she used that cheap shit...ehheheeheh

Okay, interesting answers... there is alot of "parallel development" if I beleive everyone!

Okay, here is a more interesting question: Who or what idea has been the "thinking outside of the box" idea of the last couple of years? You know, something that was so far out from everything we were doing... but worked?

There use to be new ideas every other week... no there are rare. Can anyone think of who is thinking outside of the box?

John,

That's interesting .. i was having the same conversation yesterday.

There's no startup price in our business.

If you want to be a gallery maker, they give you free hosting, free pics, free traffic, everything.

If you want to own a McDonald's no one gives you a free anything. Come up with $100k and prove you have a net worth of $500k and they finance the rest.

We are students of capitalism, trained in its wisdom, yet we run the adult internet under the guise of communism. No one falls through the cracks. The cost of failure is not high enough.

Start a Quicky Mart for $100k and fail; you lose $100k, your time, and maybe your good credit.

And of course, we are trapped in the web. What we don't offer our affiliates, our competitors do.

Could be wrong, but ...

I think Amateur Hardcore started the first click-thru. Whereby one signed up, waited for someone to get back to you, days later they gave you your code.

I think CE started the first *automated* click thru, you signup, here's your code, your banners, start sending your traffic now.

Dravyk Who started the first niched 4 Free program? :-)
