Hey Flash,

There will be times where you can't get to certain places because of this worm. It has cause Denial of Service to most machines at one time or another. AOL is hurt pretty bad, because their members are not protected from this.

Even if you have UNIX machines, it will still cause it to run many tasks. This is propigating quickly through the net.

Symantic has updated their virus software twice last night, and again this morning.

This will probably get worse before it gets better.:^(

Am hoping the calls do not take all availabe requests to the server

A new worm, being called w32.nimda.amm, is being sent around via email. The attachment is called README.EXE and comes as a MIME-type of "audio/x-wav" together with some html parts. There appears to be no text in this message when it is displayed by Outlook when in Auto-Preview mode (always a good indication there's something not quite right with an email.) DO NOT CLICK ON IT TO OPEN!! Simply delete the email.

This Denial of Service Attack is propogating across the entire Internet at breakneck speed. It is affecting most ALL Internet connectivity providers due to the voluminous requests being reflected across various networks. Therefore routers and switches are being stressed, thus causing major network delays across all networks.

Mike.. good article... I have always found Nostradamus fascinating.. I know it's bunk but it is interesting. I remember watching a special on HBO about him that Orson Wells hosted (The Man Who Saw Tomorrow) somewhere in the mid to late 80's that did predict, according to their experts, that New York would be hit from the middle east somewhere in this time frame, but they figured nuclear weapons. They said the person behind the attacks would be the third anti-christ with the first two being Adolf Hitler and Napolean. Would be a VERY long war that would be followed by a long period of peace. Would love to be able to see that show again to see exactly what quatrains they used to come to that conclusion. So while the ones that have floated around have been false I know there has been stuff around for quite some time that is similar. seems some people might betwisting that to fit the times.Anyways.. HBO if you're out there send me a tape of the show would ya??

I appreciate the candle sentimate, but to take photos with satilites is silly. The lights of the city or peoples houses will be seen over any candles.

Now if they have a blackout, then light candles they would be seen.

Good article in many respects, Mikey, but they quoted CSICOP (my least favorite "experts" in this or any field) as usual stating their preferred belief where they have no real evidence:

You can't "debunk" a pattern in smoke and say it's not there. Of course it is there...accidental or not. Science can't say one way or another if it has meaning. CSICOP keeps forgetting the "or another" part of that equation.

Same goes for the 11 thing. They choose to not see its relevance. Doesn't mean there might not somehow be some relevance, connected to a physical law we don't know about.

I dunno if any of that means anything, the difference is I admit it...CSICOP doesn't. :-)

BTW, I thought the smoke looked more like Ted Nugent. JMO.

Well, since I've moved up the hills, I try to take a few hours a day to step away from the computer and enjoy what I have - especially in light of the recent National events.

Which brings me to ask this question: Why is it you can cook ANYTHING on a grill and it just plain damn taste better? Now, I don't cook (I also don't clean - I'm a "domestic retard" and a bad catch as a wife....), so maybe it's just MY food that tastes better on a grill <s>, but I swear - a lump of ground beef, mushrooms, tomatoes, corn, chicken, sausage - at my house, they just ALL taste better cooked on the grill :)
