I don't know about anyone else but I am really troubled by the rush this country seems to be in to "get back to normal". Face it folks...."normal" is but a distant memory!

I think it is absolutely insane to have commercial airliners back in the air at this point. There is no f*cking way the needed security is in place, or even close to being in place. Is this country of "instant breakfast" and "5 minute meals" really that weak and without patience that it could not withstand a few weeks or months of inconvenience without it's precious air travel system?

And soon the stadiums will again be full of baseball and football fans.....and that one makes me shudder. If you think the 5000+ casualties at the WTC looks bad...just think what a two liter bottle of anthrax dropped from a cessna into the middle of an open roofed stadium with 60,000+ sports fans would be like. Or a low flying crop duster plane dumping a load of some other exotic biological over a stadium.

Without a doubt there are probably hundreds if not thousands of these "sleeper" terrorists in and around this country, and if they can hijack airliners I would think getting their hands on small planes would be a piece of cake.

And there are thousands of similar scenarios that are possible with our currently pathetic lack of security and wide open borders.

I am afraid in our collective rush to get back to normal we very well may be setting the stage for more massive losses of innocent civilians.

I realize many in our government are afraid that if we don't get things back to normal our economy will fall into depression....I for one would be more than willing to deal with an economic depression if it is a choice between that and watching even one more of my fellow Americans die needlessly at the hands of these animals.

I believe we, as a nation need to step back, take a deep breath and face the fact that our way of life is GONE....it will never be the same again...period! So instead of this mad rush back to normal....how about some slow, methodical re-assessment and repair of all the huge security holes in our country and in our previous way of life. Don't we owe it to the memory of all those that perished, as well as to our children and grandchildren to make the sacrifices now so hopefully they won't have to.

Let us not in our "return to normal" zeal bequeath to our children a country in which these attrocities can ever be repeated....they deserve so much better from us.

Hooper Guess What's Coming This Week....

Isn't the idea of trying to catch Terrorists through immigration a joke? How many people sneak across the border from Mexico everyday? What if not all of them are from Mexico?

If they want at us they can get us. The president is saying we need to eradicate them. Going over there and just bombing them and then coming home is not going to work. We are going to have to establish a presence there and when we see them pop up their head we need to blow it off. There is no negotiating with these people. They want us dead. Not much to negotiate with there. The Taliban is a joke. They threaten to attack countries that help us if we attack them. Their weapons are left over from their war with the USSR. Their weapons are over 10 years old and they have almost zero experience in modern warfare. They pretty much only know guerilla warfare and that will not do them much good against cruise missiles and laser-guided bombs. Pakistan's support of our demands is a joke also. They are FRIENDLY with Osama and the Taliban. There are Taliban backed camps in Pakistan. Pakistan says they will close their border with Afghanistan. What are they going to do? Set up armed guards all along the border which mainly is mountainous terrain? They are only giving in to our demands because they fear us more than Afghanistan. They are NOT doing it because they want to help us. If we put troops in Pakistan we will have to watch out backs closely. I was in Dharan, Saudi Arabia staying at Khobar Towers when they were blown up by Saudi Arabian nationals. They did not get so close because they were sneaky, they got so close because we were lax in security. Those in command said they did everything they could to prevent it. From the edge of our building it was only 20 feet from the edge of a parking lot of an Islamic Mosque of all things. There were kids who would play cricket there and would jump the fence to get a ball when they hit one over. We would lob water balloons at them from the balconies and they would try to catch them to throw them back. IT WAS NOT SECURE. We saw the same guy pull into the parking lot and work on his engine for a week solid which afforded him a nice view of our compound. We reported him several times and were told it was being investigated. Later found out he was believed to be one of the guys who did it. The news is reporting today that one of the hijackers was seen last year meeting in Malaysia with one of the bombers of the USS Cole. Yet they were able to go do what they wanted which happened to be to kill people. I think that the days of observation and note taking are over. I see us using very liberal judgement in dealing with suspected terrorists. Libya, Sudan, Iran and other counties identified by the CIA as supporting terrorists have all condemned the attacks this week. OF COURSE THEY DID! They may be fanatical but they are not stupid. Do you honestly think that when they go home they say to themselves "Gosh, I am so sad those Americans died." HELL NO! They put out a statement trying to distance themselves from any suspicion and then smile their ass off in private and call up the local terrorist training camp and tell them to keep training for they may be needed soon. Don't forget that WE KILLED KHADAFFI'S DAUGHTER IN OUR ATTACK ON LIBYA! I doubt he has forgiven us for that even though it was retaliation for THEIR attacks on us.
We are going to have to go to every damn country and take out the training camps and the people that support them. Otherwise all we are doing is pissing them off and making them find another way to get to us. Will America and the other free countries have the resolve to do all this or will we always have to live in fear and wonder if that dark skinned guy with the beard sitting over in 19B is going to hop up in a moment and stick a knife to the stewardesses throat? Only time will tell...
I can see many changes coming in the near future. We were living in peace on borrowed time and time finally caught up with us. The rest of the world lives with this shit (although not on this scale) and we are now too. I heard a commercial on the radio earlier for priceline.com - wanna bet they go out of business soon like Midway Airlines just did and like Continental is hinting at (they just laid off 12K employees stating the results of the attacks as a DIRECT result). Hell, will we continue to have shows all over the country every few months. Will the gathering in Curacao still go on in just a month if we can't even fly out of the country? Adultdex in November? Internext in January? Nobody can say for certain. Experts say it is most likely there are more "sleeper-agents" in the country and it only takes one to blow something up. The FBI hopefully will catch most of them but what if they one they miss is on YOUR plane next time? I doubt that Osama Bin Laden is telling them "The US is going to kick my ass so just forget about any future actions" - Most likely he has instructed them to get us before we get them. IT WILL NOT END UNTIL WE GET RID OF THEM. They are not rational people and they do not follow normal logic. I just hope that Osama has not gotten his hands on chemical, biological, or heaven forbid Nuclear weapons. The CIA does not think he has them but then again they did not know he was planning what he did. There is PLENTY of missing weapons grade nuclear material out there that nobody knows the location of. It is not a question of if but WHEN someone is going to use that stuff on us. Things have changed, we had better get used to it...
I live in Oklahoma City and we know all to well the effects on people sense of security and how it can affect everyday life. Hell, all the local Ryder Rental trucks here are WHITE..not Yellow like the rest of the country. Just because some fanatic decided to use one to blow up something that stood for America.
I think I'm going to go play with my kid for a while..Yesterday we saw a B-52 fly over and my son asked me if that was a bad-guy. Things have changed for the worse and they will not go back to what they were Sept 10th no matter how hard we wish or try.

It's getting very depressing. War sucks even when you are in the right. I don't know how many American lives are going to be lost or how long this is going to take but praying it is the swiftest ass kicking in history.

Canada needs to clean up its act immigration wise. We have the worst reputation in the world for letting in every bit of detritus who shows up at our door including war criminals and terrorists. That said, American immigration isn't much better cuz they find their way inside the States eventually.
Anybody in the US or Canada on any kind of visa, anything other than a landed immigrant, needs to be shown the door if they are from a country that has ANYTHING less than a great relationship with the US.
