These two idiots are a national embarassment. Everyone is fully aware of my religious leanings (er, non-religious leanings), but I've always been a staunch supporter of freedom of religion, even though I disagree with 99.9% of most religions. For these two "religious leaders" to state something like this is one of the most truly evil things I've heard. To blame homosexuals, pagans and abortionists for 18 people jacking planes into fucking buildings is not only ridiculous, it is downright offensive. (Never thought you'd see me offended by anything, eh? ;))

I hate to break it to those two fuckclods, but the people who rammed those planes into buildings HATED CHRISTIANS...maybe we should blame them, huh?

I've gotten mucho hatemail for some of my anti-religion rantings in the past, so I'll keep it mellow. I just find stuff like this almost as dangerous as what those highjackers did. How many people will bash homosexuals, pagans, etc. and maybe even worse after talk like this?? Let's not forget the number of people Christians have killed in the name of their God (Crusades?) and then they forget these highjacers were killing for their God (Allah).

I'm also a little ashamed at a few things recently. While on one hand we have people coming together and showing civic pride, we have a faction beating up muslims and showing the very hatred they complain about. I had a Phillipino friend the other day attacked and called a "raghead". What the fuck? Racsit redneck fuckbags can't tell the difference between an Arab and a Phillipino??? I guess to these unibrow fucks, it's open season on anyone with dark skin???
This hatred and racism is almost as destructive as those planes that took out those buildings...and sadly, this is what those terrorists want..turn us against each other..so while some are buying flags and giving blood, a whole nother segment is playing right into the hands of those bastards.

Sorry to vent, I've been holding it in for a few days and am getting pissed and that article just really set me off. In fact, I'm calling for a boycott of the PTL Club and any other program on CBN. I'm also calling for a boycott of any products or companies these two are affilaited with.

With those speeches from Robertson and Falwell, they may well cause more pain and problems then those terrorists did on Tuesday morning.......

Listening to the live press conference with the FBI in NYC and they say that all the info about suspects being captured at JFK and LaGuardia were FALSE! They said they detained around a dozen individual and questioned them and let all but one so far go...
I can understand the boards having rumors, but how can the press be so wrong? They were reporting SWAT teams coming onto planes and removing people with fake pilot ID's and knives.

To top if off they just arrested a lady who was at the ruins of the WTC and said that she had received a call from a police office who she claimed was under the rubble. They dug where she indicated he was and found nothing. She then admitted she had MADE IT UP! What a dipshit. They have also arrested several people who have posed as volunteers and then looted some of the shops in the ruins. What kind of scum does this? They deserve whatever punishment they get..

I dressed my kid up for school in his best Red, White, and Blue and was proud to see nearly every kid at school wearing something similar. Driving to school I noticed that LOTS of houses had a flag in front and many cars dropping kids off at school had flags on their antennas. Here in OKC we remember what tradgedy is and how a nation can rally afterwards and I hope (and I am pretty dang sure) that the same thing is happening all over the country. Hell, even the DJ's on our local rock station are saying lots of "God Bless America" in between songs instead of their normal dirty jokes - some of those still pop up though.. life MUST go on after all.

Going to be an interesting time in the next few weeks. Looks like America is behind the President no matter what they may think of him personally and whatever actions come most people feel they are necessary not as acts of war but as acts of self-defense. If we do not stop them now they will just be encouraged to do more. War is Hell, but THEY asked for it, not us.

Forest, I am in the path of the storm and I can tell you, things are fine...we are experiencing some isolated tornadoes, we do not expect any loss of life with this storm, just alot of rain and wind.

Good news, the storm is moving quickly and not beating on any particular area as once predicted.

If we were going to endure a bad tropical storm/hurricane, this particular one has been more gentle than some from the past...

The storm is predicted to exit Daytona Beach sometime later today/tonight.

Will keep you updated as I am from the Daytona area...the squalls have created torando damage in Cocoa beach but is shopping plaza and a marina, no report of injuries.

Cat, I haven't totally given up on TV, but I've found it extremely difficult this week (as has many of us) actually getting real work done. And kept finding myself drawn back to the TV. Ditto, the web, as this board attests with its many URLs.

I've had to FORCE myself to get back to a more normal schedule. Doesn't mean I'm not clicking on every URL, just not everyone. Doesn't mean I'm totally avoiding TV; I simply cannot.

But yep, time to get back to business and (as it has been said many times already) that is also the best way to say FU to the terrorists as well. Get back to the normal routine (or almost normal), get business and the economy moving back to the level it was.

Btw, looking at one of my stats I actually see yesterday's adult surfers were more than Monday's to my links list. I guess things are getting back to normal. :-)

Cat -- the problem with the airport situation is no different than what happened a couple years ago in the schools -- someone does something, everyone gets scared, and then every copycat crackpot on the face of the planet calls up a bomb threat (in the school cases) or heads to the airport with a knife (in this case). These copycat whackos just serve to keep everyone on edge, though I'll wager that 99.99% of them are simply just whackos.

And really, if one were part of the group that caused Tuesday's disaster, you'd certainly know that the same old song and dance wasn't going to fly and would be smart enough to come up with some new tricks, ones that didn't involve the airlines at all I would think.

5 at JFK and 5 at LaGuardia airports today as they tried to pass thru security, each person had false pilot/crew ids, knives, and flight certificates from a Flight School in Vero Beach, FL.

Grown men cried when he walked out. I would of been one of em. It's a shame that they can not let private citizens in on the cleanup/rescue to help remove materials. If I lived in NY, Id be there and so would most of the folks on this board. There are still folks alive under the rubble but time is running out. They dont want to shift the debris which I understand, but it seems the only wat is to get an army of citizens like ants on the edge of the pile and use raw man power [20 guys on a beam] but I may be wrong. These slabs of cement are just too heavy for man power.

Still our thoughts are with the buried alive. Lets hope and prey we can see some more come out alive.

I read in one of the articles about the towers construction that the decision had been made years ago to encapsulate the asbestos instead of trying to remove it, which is not a bad option at all.

The article also mentioned the fact that asbestos is one of those things that really takes long term, repeated exposure to cause serious damage.

The main problem mentioned in the article as far as breathing in the dust was the particles of soot and other minute debris that could very easily cause asthmatic reactions and things like that.

They announced tonight that Amtrak currently has 8 full cars on the way to NY filled with Visine, bottled water, etc. Also, Busch is now putting out bottles of water in one of their beer plants for the Red Cross. Another company in GA donated an ungodly amount of luncheon meats.

I don't want to sound insensitive of the massive numbers of people that have perished, but I have to say I'm very impressed with the people in the WTC's that obviously exited in enough of an orderly fashion where 50K were estimated to be in the buildings, and it LOOKS like less than 5K are actually missing and presumed dead. My heart breaks though everytime I see someone on TV showing pictures of a loved one asking people to look for them :(

i've been wondering ever since the rescue work began. The dust in the air.....what's in it? Asbestos? How much exposure to asbestos does it take to have potential problems down the road? These people who are in the trenches are heroes. I think I would do it if i was there but ya never know until you are in the situation. The stories of the firemen and police who sacrificed their lives are incredible.

Remember the scene from the Deer Hunter….where Robert DeNerio is being held captive in a Vietnamese hut where he is forced to play Russian Roulette with his friend…..And in tiring to get him to play the Vietnamese troops hold him down while an officer is slapping him….at one point after being hit DeNerio screams in anger..OOHHHHH…YOU ARE GONNA DIE!!!
