MikeAI, wrt Jim & VIP-ID, I'm very disappointed to see the development. I personally have no stake in it, since I didn't run any VIP-ID sites, but knowing what I know about Jim and the crew there, I know that it's a very unfortunate happening that was definitely unplanned. I think there are plenty of operators out there who would've closed their doors and obsconded, Jim chose to eat some crow, write the email he did, keep the program open so the customers who paid for an ID will get what they paid for, put up new sites to replace the ones that leave, and he's paying out for 2 more months. I think that says something, and to trash him for it is really kind of jumping to conclusions.

You know I agree with you on a LOT of things, Mike, but I gotta disagree with you on this one. Would you have notified everyone at the first instance of a problem, before you tried everything to fix it? I don't think so. And I think that's the situation here. I've broken bread with Jim, Steve, and the crew, I think they're good people who will live up to their word. Everyone makes mistakes, at least he owned up to it. If you think he owned up to it too late, so be it, but that's more than others have done.

Well a spam went out the webmasters, VIP-ID is sunk. I have a feeling they knew about this for awhile, but let webmasters hang on while they knew the ship was sinking. Thus webmasters like me have lost a lot of $$$ ( Is VIP ID going to pay us what they oww?? Is Jim Morrison ( VIP-JIM) going to pay us?).

Not only have we lost $$$ that we have earned, but the people at VIP-ID did not give anyone heads up to move so we do not have more loses. So they have COMPOUNDED the damage.

system is not flexible enough to allow us to add a third party processor so this is a crippling blow.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the webmasters who have stuck with us. It breaks my heart to make this decision but
at this point I see no other choice. We will do our best to take care of our webmasters. Any monies that are owed will be paid.
Furthermore, we will take your average commission over the past three months and continue to pay you that amount for two more
months. I hope this helps ease the pain of lost renewal income.

We will keep the VIP-ID system up for now as we have members who have already paid for three or six month subscriptions. We plan on
adding sites to make up for webmasters moving their sites elsewhere. As of next Friday, webmaster passwords will no longer work.

We have plans on building a better program with a more adaptable backend that will allow us to deal with situations like this. There is no
date set for this but in the future we will open our doors again. I hope that you will be willing to give us another chance then. Both myself,
and the entire VIP-ID staff, gave this our best effort but at this time we came up short.

Serge I think you were missing the gist of the call I made to you. my call was directed at expaning Oprano's services to the thousands of webmasters who visit on a regular basis. Sure we have a great chat board - with colorful personalities, and lots of great information being discussed.

Sure we open the TGP2 board that is rocking along - and of course the Caption Contest has been a huge hit.

Oprano is the perefect place to conduct business and have fun at the same time....

but I wanted to do more... more information, more entertainment, more business building, MORE MORE MORE...
