For example,I once told FM quite strongly to...how shall I put it...hmmm...here goes;
to vigorously pursue his interests in sex and travel immediately.
It was a very unsound and unwise decision as I had too much money to say "fuck you" from the safety of poverty, and to little to say it from the viewpoint of too much money.

Serge, Agreed it was fun hearing you and FM. Hell it's the first show I actually recorded! You ought to get your own show. Seriously. You are great at asking the questions. And are quite engaging as a speaker and quite entertaining.
Gauranteed you'd get a lot of listeners and it would be good to hear you stir it up a bit with the movers and shakers. : )
And was also good listening to FM who is one of the few big boys to still throw the grunbts a few honest tips.
Good show guys!

""what I like the most about millionairs,
they don't give a fuck as long as their millions are there
;-))""
Once you get your millions, and manage against all odds to keep them, you are faced with the biggest problem to challenge mankind.
The quest for the mythical "Fuck You"Money.
ie enough money,so that no matter who it is you are speaking to,you are wealthy enough to say "fuck you" *1
1) It is interesting to note that at the extreme opposite end of the spectrum (ie Zero money) you find the same result, that being the freedom of neither giving a fuck nor being worried by telling anyone "fuck you".Interesting,eh?

Good evening everyone. Just thought I would pop in and say hi.
DrewKole I also listened to Serge and FM go at it. He does have a cute voice. :)
Heyas all. :) Just thought Id come and say, wuzzah... I usually hang around the ***pond, adult***surprise, and other newbie boards, spewing my unbelievably small tgp wisdom, so I thought Id come here and say, wuzzah.
Plus, I heard Serge on the FM vs Serge chat, and I must say, I fell in love with Serge and his voice instantly. *blushes*
and somehow I knew about 10pm thing .. maybe you told me? Or maybe that the time on all the files and I wasn't sure?
**************
Colin, the only person I TOLD that was Pushrod with whom we were running a few proggies together.
He was shooting his mouth at the shows, that's all.
Even my "godfather", ScottPB didn't know all the details, he knew SOMETHING was there, but didn't know exactly what it was.
I think the proggy is still on the server and I'll match my stats against ANYBODY's super duper stats
(if they pay per click) and I bet I'll still come closer to the REAL hit counts

All in all .. it WAS one of the very best places to send clicks.
Only one was better .. and I think it was an EXCELLENT 6 cents per raw on a god-awful number of hits.

""small indiscretions ""
a perfect description of Sergescash
hahahaha
Nick
**********
Nick,
it's a slow day and I feel like it to explain to you and all others something I haven't go into details at radio show with Ron.
The way SergesCash was counting hits.
1) I kept my records since 1996 of hits sent to Al Hadhazy, CE
OFF the same links and
I saw how MY clicks were counted.
2) I devised the formula
(Colin, I'm sure you appreciate my scientific approach)to aproximate their count and it was:
RAWS I sent from midnight till 10 pm multiplyed by .82 WAS what they were paying me!
3) I said to myself,
if I pay RAWS from midnight 'till 10 pm multiplyed by .82 to others,
I'll be in the ball park!
and I WAS!!!!!
KoKO still says that the $$$ he was geting from Sergescash were the biggest payouts from all other progies he was sending traffic to!
The way to fight the declining profits and INCREASED shaving by others was,
REDUCE multiplier from .82 to .81, .80, etc...
UNIQUES multiplier was
.58 and of course we were counting RAW hits off the acces log,
and even with "the formula" AGA was getting 3 cents per click, the highest from what he tested.
(he can't get over 1 cent TODAY!!!)
UVOVUN's multiplier was .23,
I COULD afford paying 18 cents per UVOVUN!
;-)))
so let the truth be known!
MikeAI,
you wouldn't go wrong sending me hits in those days....I kept my tabs on others...ALWAYS
;-))))

Colin, Thanks, Like to think maybe its those damn ENG classes Serge and us busted our ass on. Logic was drilled into us. All that work. Sometimes I wonder if we gave too much.
Today I view formal Ed as just another business and I was just another young guy who they made money off. Gave up my twenties studying time and motion study, calculus, english and MECHANICAL drafting only to pump porn for a living. : )
Aaah well. Sure glad those big companies out east rejected my resumes back in the 80s. The long and widing woods.. We all have to walk it. Life is good today.

Catman,

;-))))
Hey Mutt, Nice seeing you. When did it go sick? Well it took from the beginning of time till 1986 to get to 5 billion folks on this planet. It took 13 more years till 1999 to hit 6 billion. What will the tear 2050 be like? Oh well I'll be 93. : ) I really doubt this world will see another millenium without serious social constraints. Population is exploding. Too many kids slipping through the cracks. Two may rats in the cage. IMO that is the main cause of the inhumanity we see every day. Tough being a young person today.
I knew in the early 90's when I got better tips being mean to customers at the door than I did by being nice, when being nice meant your were weak, that this world had changed. Nice guys are no longer respected in many circles. Comes a time when one must seek refuge and move on.
But, I had my time out "there". Today, I pretty much hide in the woods. Listen to the breeze by day and watch the stars at night. Enjoy peace and quiet where I can find it. I do love my privacy and you are right that is why I left. Privacy may be the last great refuge man has today. I mostly feel uncomfy on boards [like my ass is hanging out to every asshole who reads these boards] as well as in public now days [where young people now make me nervous]. It has become a vicious world. In the "woods" I feel comfortable and safe. I know where my shelters are and the nasty dogs can not touch me. ; ) Who needs the aggravation. I have nothing to promote and the days of dispensing nuggets are long gone...
Serge. Good to see you. I been around as usual, in fact I found a new mat in the oprano basement. My internet family. My old school. My memories. My home. : )
Times got tough this year. Had to spend a lot of time in the trenches to survive this year. Make a lot of changes. Refine and define my pitches to the surfer. Find those who could still make money. For those who worked hard this summer were doing ok. I had 28 decent sponsors two years back, last year maybe 12, today maybe 6. As sponsors go so go I. Fortunately there are still a few sponsors still converting. But a whole lot more no longer do. To not know the ropes, to not know the scammers, today would be a difficult time and maybe impossible. But this is business .... Perhaps good to weed out things. Today, I fear saturation and sometimes wonder how long we can continue to sell our wares as they are today. Free porn is a problem. But it is also where the traffic is. Like many I follow the money wherever it is.
The secret today is in who you know not so much what you know if your a free site grunt. ; )
Ill be around and if I dont bore you too much, Ill throw my two cents in. : )

Felt moved to make this post. Thank you.
For cat lovers and decent folks it is always sad to see the torture and cruelty that is constantly given to the cats and kittens of our world. It is long known that these far east countries slaughter cats for food. But more disturbing is what is being done by these college kids [pukeasses] at MIT. Stuffing kittens in mason jars and such. I wont post the URL but many of you were probably also shocked by it today as I was as you looked into this. Rest assured that this is being investigated by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies in Mass. I certainly hope the bastards get there ass handed to them. That isnt even slightly cool.
I know my post wont change what occurs everyday to hundreds of cats in the US. But still I feel obligated as someone who calls himself "Catman" to speak up for the little gibbies of the world when I see these kind of things on the internet.
For those who have shed tears and feel bad about this [as I do] and were touched by this remember there are those of us who love cats and who always have a can of "boo" [catfood] on our door for every wild, abandoned, and feral cat that wanders the outdoors and ends up at our door and in our yards. There are those of us who respect the common housecat very much. Who feel the common housecat pound for pound may be the true king of beasts. Who deserve respect. All we can do is to take care of the cats we see and to adopt as many as we can from humane socities and such. Then we can sleep better knowing that we have offset the cruelty that occurs every day to the little gibbies of this world.
If your alone and a young person and maybe a bit lonely, go out tomorrow and plop down a few dollars to your humane society and adopt a cat. Preferably a slightly older one as these are hard to adopt. As the years go by it will be one of the most rewarding and soul feeding experiences you will know.
I dont post much any more so I thank you all for allowing me this post. I just could not sit by and stay quiet on this issue. I know the folks that read this board are 99 % decent people and I may be preaching to the quior but damn it I had to post somewhere.
Also while I'm here my best to Scotty's descendents and mourners. I never knew him but did see him post a couple times and was real shocked to hear he was on that plane. He was considered family by those of us who in the biz and who read the boards. And will be missed and remebered.
Congrats to Serge and Mike on your new board. Hope everyone has had a nice summer. The winds are changing to the Northwest and summer is already blowing out up north. In 60 days there will be snow. Summers are short. Winters are very long. But I prefer it cooler anyhow.
Thanks again. Take care all.

Well, I am back and have a lot of thankyous.... First to the panelists who always do such a great job. MFold, Colin, Vegas Lee & Raw Alex took a lot of responsibility off my shoulders.
An then there is of course YnotBob.. He kept things moving along & helped us raise $100,000 in only TWO hours! Many, many, many thanks to those who participated.... the list is endless! You just had to be there! I am afraid that I would forget someone if I started listing.... but there are a few, I certainly have to send kudos to: Pattycake for all her help, Little C (Claudia) who brought a resounding $8,000 & and showed her appreciation in ways that many won't ever forget, and to JohnIp, JoeE and MFold who not only did their share of buying - but also got on the phone to help put us over the top. What can you say about the Sweet brothers? I am not sure they ever lowered their hands.... and even raised an extra $500 on a dare from Claudia :-)As I said... you had to be there! It was said it couldn't be done... but thanks to many generous donors & some really hip people who seemed to have a ball, donating their money... it was one of the most outstanding events I have seen. The dinner was scrumptous & and the bar donated by ARS was just the icing on the cake! and then the bar donated by MFold & the bar donated by Forrest & Claudia at CamsCash... well, you get the picture. A lot of real classy people in one place! and there are so many others to thank it is endless....
We were all very saddened by the tragic accident involving Scotty. JoeE donated $1,000 to the Webmasters Against Child Abuse in his honor. There was also a moment of silence while we all remembered him fondly. He will be missed.
It looks like we were between 700 & 750 which is down 25% from New Orleans. I think I can probably almost list the people we didn't have this time, who have almost never missed a Cybernet expo in 3 or 4 years. Big Bear, I missed you, Smoothie, Peaches, Evil Chris, Grandma & Sharon and many many of the friends we have made over the years.... Maybe will see you in Vegas.
If I could just figure out how to put booths around the pool or the lobby bar... or export them to South Beach... the exhibitors would have been extremely happy - however many know the drill and were right there with you :-)
And.... there were several nice parties, but you know who they were & hope you did some business with them. These parties are VERY expensive!
ThrobX - You just can't please everyone. I am tired of trying... Cybernet has always been about providing a platform for networking, and if someone couldn't do that at this conference, they have no understanding what the business is all about, and how deals are developed and made. It was only 30 seconds from the lobby bar to the pool and 2 minutes to the showroom where lunch was everyday or the workshops & only a short cab ride if they wanted to join the bunch staying down at South Beach. Can't make it much easier than that. It seems that fewer and fewer care much about the showroom much anymore, if they have easy access to the people they came to see. A 'big dick showroom has never been our speciality, especially in these days of extreme cutbacks. A lot of business was done at the last show in Miami which mostly consisted of 10 x 20 booths with a banner accross the back. It is still my contention that business can be done that way again without all the expense, but what do I know? Don't get me started:-(

The distubing "kitty slaughter" video just goes to show that most far eastern countries, especially those approaching the 3rd (and 4th) worlds, they will eat anything. No pets there - only livestock. I've seen "salesmen" in a marketplace in South Korea with huge bins full of cockroaches... for sale... to be eaten... What an odd world you humans have to live in.

WARNING: Mom Post (and kinda morbid): Folks, if you have ANYONE dependent on you in any way, shape or form, get a decent life insurance policy, write up a will and show someone where to pick up the recurring checks ;) For most of you, you're young and can get a good 20-30 year term policy and a decent rate. Some of us old folks have to pay a little more :) Granted, my father and son claim they're buying matching Ferrari's when I depart, but at least I feel comforted knowing I've ATTEMPTED to get a college education paid for! But Scotty was someone's father, someone's son and many people's loved one, so even if you don't know him, it's a tragedy that someone is taken at such a young age. :((

Stuntal, nice post! Congrats, you now go on my "reasons to have legal abortions" list, along with the chargeback guy.
I didn't know Scotty well, just from being at the same table I was lunching at at Montreal Web Expo, but from that short time with him, I knew he was a good guy. He'll be missed, and my condolences go out to his family & friends.
On a better note, the Charity Dinner & Auction was an exceptional highlight of the show, I hope that every subsequent show has something like this. And if a particular show chooses not to be involved with it, some people oughta just DO it on their own. It was fun, it helped a good cause, and it provided a great atmosphere for networking and discussion.
All in all, I thought the show was very good. I heard some people bitching about the show itself, that the tradeshow was too small, or whatever. True, there are some things I would've done differently, but then, I didn't do it, Fay and Dave did, and kudos to them for doing it. All I know is, these shows are what YOU make of them.
I even heard a guy say he wasn't happy with the show and he was going to chargeback the fee. I hope he's reading this, because I didn't really think about it when he said it, but buddy, do it and you're persona non grata in MY book. Don't ever ask for my help if you chargeback Fay for this show.
Great meeting some new people, as well as seeing everyone again that I already knew.

Although I wasn't a close friend of Scotty's, he was always cool/friendly to me when I'd see him at the shows. A few times I joked with him sayin stuff like "you don't wanna mess with me" etc... LOL since Scotty was about 4 times my size. He even helped keep me outta trouble once or twice just because he happened to be there. To JoeE and others that were close to him, my condolences for your loss. He seemed like a great guy.
