So here's an interesting thread about these pop ups, turns out that many of your sites are getting hit as well -- Webfather -- you're on a partial list of posted for at least one of your better domains --

We will be looking at whatever legal action is necessary to get our pages removed so anyone else with the problem interested in doing the same, lmk

Homegrown content seems to have all the right content, just seems like their "image" to webmasters has been presented in the wrong light or something.

I'm sure once they have refined their program a bit it will kick ass as they have a lot of content there, so retention would have to be good one would think.

I love the concept you just outlined! I had one about a year or two ago I abandoned doing ...

Quick tale. As a student in Catholic elementary and high schools there was one good way to judge whether a movie was good to go pay for and see or not. Think about it we could make the surfer feel bad for looking at porn ( especially right after cuming) - then sell him on being addicted and having to join our 12 step program.

Of course we would have monthly fees, and such. We went as far as to find some shrinks who would back us and write the program for us... never got a chance to follow up.

If someone had time, and brains I think this could be a money maker. Not as BIG as porn.... but you could tell your neighbors you were helping people! haha

Partnership programs do the same thing. You get $1.50 for the trial and a better payout if the surfer converts. A payout that may last for years if the site is good. My point is that if sites go per active member they should be loyal to the people that have been sending them legit signups for years. The signups I send to revshare programs have a near 0% chargeback rate. Frankly, I only remember having 10-20 chargebacks (revokes) this year and most of them were on check signups. Bottom line, my traffic converts and sticks around for awhile. Once I get around to redesigning all 500 sites things should get even better. ;)

We got slammed by fraud of the pps. It was miserable. Too many webmasters promoted how to cheat it. Wish there was a happy median. We may be doing recurring soon so hopefully you could try us again then. Also, were you aware that the Follow Me program upped the pay out?

However, I know you could still use our content. Our big fish customers like CEN are clearing their usage bill and running big black accounting entries with their hgcash accounts running off the content pages.

What do webmasters here think of it's "cousin"? The "we pay you X-amount/percentage of the trial and then we will also pay you the X-amount should they convert to that full month" (but only for that first month) method?

Same feelings, same thing, different name? Or do webmasters consider it a totally different and better "animal" than the active-member scenario?

Ulfie it is not only punishes legitimate webmasters for the bad ones, but it also makes YOU responsible for retaining from trial memberships.

You should have seen my numbers in that program, first week - things were smoking, then the signups started to peel off - it was very depressing. I ended up having a LOUSY conversion rate, on traffic I know was golden on other programs.

People who do "avtive membership" business models take NO risk at all. In this way they are a lot like Rev Share programs, however with Rev Share when I take the risk - I am rewarded with ongoing re-occuring $$$. This includes any trials as well.

The "active membership" program does not reward the webmaster for taking a risk - and on the trials, the program pcokets all the money if they do not convert to full memberships - AND the take all your exit traffic.

Sweet deal for the people who run those kind of programs... Maybe I should look into it! hahaha

I don't like the per active model either. Why should I be punished for sending legit signups for years because some morons like to steal credit card numbers. That being said, why not put new webmasters into the per active program and if they can prove they can send a legit amount of signups per month then move them to a per signup program? Seems logical to me.
