I'm not real crazy about the whole idea, but I do agree that tube sites are not going to go away. I'm going to watch this for awhile and see if a substantial number of other sponsors follow Shap's lead and make similar arrangements with tube sites.

considering most of the major porn affiliate programs own some pretty large tube sites (not just little clips either, FULL videos) i don't see this as any surprise

I know one pretty well respected and succesful webmaster would was contacted just recently to work for a large sponsor, they wanted him to build and run tube "illegal" sites for them

I know of 2 other programs that run large tube sites, but yet they are also the ones that go after other tube sites using their content

it really is amazing to see where ip's and servers lead when you start following trails

My original Tech Guy / Programmer from back in 1994-1998 called me out of the blue just yesterday. I hadn't talked to him in over 3 years. After he left me, he did contract work for many of the larger Adult companies and made an excellent living. The funny thing was he brought up that he had been contacted by 3 large Adult companies over the past month to develop Tube sites for them. Of course, they were all going to be registered off-shore to a shell company so that the Adult Webmaster community at large wouldn't know who was really involved.

I just thought it was funny that just yesterday we discussed that, and today I see this thread

Not much new in that thread, just more rehashing of the same arguments.

If you get in bed with scammers and thieves you become a scammer and thief. It doesn't work the other way 'round, they don't magically become legit.

I was also quite disappointed to learn of the pre-checked cross sales, especially to Brazzers. They were outted a few months ago as one of those programs with their own tube site.

Pornstar sites don't convert well for me, so I haven't pushed Twistys all that much, but I've pulled all the links and galleries that I did have.

yup, exact same thing happened to my buddy

large programs/companies are doing it, they are just taking precautions about where and how they do it, so it never gets back to them

What baffles me is dont they understand alot of traffic doesnt mean alot of sales. Your jerkin off to a bunch of full free scenes that doesnt motivate you to buy a membership to a site. Unless your selling hand lotion cheap cant see it making money. Illegal tubes are fed now by cpc its goes to cpa they are in trouble.

yup, doing great man

had to take some steps back and re-evaluate what my life and those I surrounded myself with...had a lot of people weighing me down

we are doing better than ever now though, I actually have a social life again, I have 3 new businesses that are taking off and 2 that are about to launch

sam is drawing like crazy too, I can't wait til she can make a full time living from her drawing, that is her dream

overall though, things are better for sure

we have a group of friends that do a weekly activity now though, you should come out and play with us last week we went bowling, I think next week we are going to the gun range, not sure yet though

BUt it requires that you have a STAFF. A lot of these are done by a one man show.

I whole-heartedly agree. I made a comment to him yesterday about the perils of being in bed with these illegal tube sites. If someone decides to file a lawsuit, a paid advertiser shouldn't be surprised to find themselves named as a co-defendant.

A tube site set up properly, with clip length limitations and zero stolen content can be a beautiful thing. But those big thieving tubes are destroying the entire format.
