The adult industry has many discussion forums, one of the most popular ones is called “Go Fuck Yourself”, or “GFY” for short. The forum can be found at gfy.com, gofuckyourself.com and several other domains. GFY is owned by ICS Entertainment, Inc. which is the front for the illustrious Playboy Enterprises. Yes, that’s THE Playboy. You know, cute little black and white bunny, lots of money, etc.

GFY charges lots of money for advertising on its site. To become a top banner sponsor, it will cost you about $1,000 per month. Putting your custom skin on the board will set you back anywhere from $10,000 to $50,000 per week, depending on whose estimates you believe. There are some other advertising options as well. While no one knows for sure, its generally accepted by most that GFY makes in excess of $1 million a year in advertising revenue from the site, nearly all of it profit. After all, there is not much expense to operating a forum. GFY loves to protect the reputation of it’s top banner sponsors and they will take money from anyone who offers to send it to them - including Adult Revenue Service.

Within 24 hours of having posted our first two turds on that site, which happened to be on the subject of Adult Revenue Service - the user account of the person who posted them was banned at the request of an ARS represenative who disliked the report and felt they were unfair to his company. GFY is primarily moderated by Eric Mathis, an ICS Employee. This guy is a complete asshole and a liar. When he banned me from the site, he refused to answer any messages asking for his reasoning or what rule was violated, but he did paste the messages I sent to the ARS representative, so I know he was sitting right there.
The GFY Rules state as follows:

A: First off make sure you have substance to do so. Show some proof. We all want to know who is dirty. And lets keep it Mono y Mono, leave the innocent bystanders out of the fray.

GFY does like to know who is dirty - as long as the dirty party is not also an advertiser on their board. If they are not an advertiser - you can post almost anything you want - even if it is not true. Many an innocent company has had their reputations put through the ringer and GFY’s so-called moderators did nothing to stop it. GFY’s advertising opportunities are very similar to the Mafia’s protection racket. You are not really paying for the advertisement as much as you are paying for protection. Most users have advertisements blocked through the use of various Firefox extensions and its well known that most ads on GFY do not get many clicks.

The funny part is that while he is a complete dip, he also isn't exactly wrong either. Advertising on GFY has got to be one of the worst return on investment things possible, pretty much everyone ends up blocking out their ad server over time, so most of the ads never show. I guess it is bad enough that Eric recently went out and killed off most of the sigs people had, I guess they were getting more play than the board advertisers were.

Well, many people (myself included) consider that much of what "Sunny" posted was in fact Eric logging in as her. I had an issue with her program (same on discussed at length after she dumped Eric) and got a fluff answer. I have a feeling that the answer may have been Eric and not her. The redirecting console without the affiliate code in it was there for MONTHS, not days, and I personally informed sunny via ICQ and email - but then she appeared in public not to know about it at the start of january. Maybe she is forgetful, but I wouldn't be shocked to find out she wasn't getting all her email or icqs.

I dont know her that well. Shes always seemed to be genuine when Ive been around her but then again...I wasnt ever around her much.

I didnt see her in Vegas.

Anytime I see something like this it goes all the way back to the BBS days for me. I cant tell you how many times I've had someone want to quote their constitutional rights to post on MY BBS or these days use any of the sites I have.

Doesn't work that way, my house, my rules. I'm judge, jury and executioner, I can punt your ass for absolutely any reason I like on any site I own. Same is as true now as it ever was when it comes to posting on the boards. You have no rights on any board, no here, not GFY, not anywhere. You are the guest of the board owner. He gets tired of your shit, or if he/she just doesn't like you, you're gone. Your recourse? Go elsewhere and bitch about it to whoever will listen.

On GFY, you play by the rules set by Lensman, ICS and playboy. They protect their sponsors. Hmmm....let's think about that. What makes more sense? Endure the endless unsubstantiated rant of a nutjob or toss him in favor of the paying advertiser? Most boards make the same decision.

On Oprano, GonZo is the law west of the pecos. You might get more play here in the "no spin zone", but I assure you there are some quick ways to get tossed from here as well.

There is one right everyone has...that is the right to leave. People bitch about GFY, but they're still over there. It's a neat little paradox, everyone bitches about it, signal to noise ratio makes it increasingly hard to have a meaningful conversation or gleam any useful business tidbits. But there's so many eyeballs that people cant resist going over there to sigwhore and what not.

I have met her as well, and she is a very genuine person. However, I have a feeling that she wasn't involved in the coding or maintenance of her website, and that Eric (or someone else) was "playing the role of sunny leone" on email and icq, perhaps only forwarding certain emails to her. It would be normal to have someone doing this, but normally they would make it clear in their replies that they are not Sunny.

I wish her well in the future, I am sure she will do well.

No stockholder wants part of a racism suit because they have to fork over some of their earnings. Besides does Playboy want the publicity that they associate with such lowlifes?
