Default Why build an adult freesite?

All your life you're told to do your best work. I'm about to tell you to stop.

Remember always: you are *not* building a site to entertain surfers. Your site isn't supposed to be pretty, or laden with content, or getting your surfer off.

Your surfer is *not* your client. Never in the history of the internet has a surfer ever sent a check to a webmaster.

Your sponsors are your clients.

Think of yourself as an internet marketing firm rather than someone who builds websites. You are marketing your sponsors. You are a business that makes money by "selling" your sponsors to your surfers.

You want surfers to come to your site in droves...then get the hell off your site as fast as possible and go to your sponsors. If they stay and hang around all they're doing is enjoying your pretty pictures and eating up your bandwith.

One of the most difficult ideas for a novice webmaster to let go of is making the site "nice for the surfer." That's the absolute *last* thing you want to do. *Never* put "bookmark this site!" on a simple free site. You don't want this surfer coming back again and again to jack off to your pics. If he doesn't click on a sponsor banner or one of your link trade buttons, he can go the hell away and leech off somebody else.

1. You are a business.
2. You are an internet marketing business selling your sponsor.
3. All your "content" does is get the surfer to your site, but it must be your marketing skills that get him off the site and to your sponsor.
4. With the exception of the 20 thumbs you must have, there should be absolutely no link on your site that doesn't get you either a chance at a sale or traffic.

We'll chat again. Have a good day.

Dom...you're just the lastest in a very long line of novice webmasters to be handed this advice. I personally had it howled at me via the phone (although I'm sure he could be heard quite clearly without one!) in an exasperated British accent!

Now that we've talked about *why* you're building a website...let's discuss a little *how* you're going to build one. Note to Dom: I'm not talking to *you* here, specifically, I'm just talking.

We're going to start with one page. Your index.html page. This is going be the most important page of your site so you want to get as much bang for your buck out of it.

Because this page is so important, it's going to take more than one post to explain all the various aspects of it. So, bear with me. I am about to get verbose.

Search engines nowadays (or at least, this is the general wisdom of webmasters and sites dedicated to SE knowledge) think highly of the top of the page. Back in the day, webmasters used to use the *bottom* of the page to slam in keywords. Today, use the top.

Here again, I'm going to remind you that you are not building for *looks.* This isn't going to be pretty. It's not supposed to be. It's supposed to be spider food.

At the very top, in size

put keywords. If the title of your site happens to be "Big Boobed Blonde," you can put *that* in

font. Those are keywords. However, if you've decided to name this site "Naughty Nancy," which you are most certainly free to do, do *not* put that on the very top in

font. Who in the hell is going to type either "naughty," "nancy" or "naughty nancy" into a search engine except that one guy looking for his ex-girlfriend from high school and doesn't have a credit card anyway? Put keywords up there. Underneath it, in the tag, put more keywords. (Why do SEs like the

and tags? I have no fucking clue and you're never going to make money if you keep asking me dumb questions. Know it. Learn it. Live it. They do, OK?)

As we are skipping over banners at the moment, we move on to your site title. You may either put "Naughty Nancy" in size font=+4 (or the actual point size if you know how to do that. I don't so I just hand code things in "basic html." Oh. You use Dreamweaver or you're very profficient in css? Good for you. I'll go make coffee and you go find somebody who will say "geeze, I started making so much more money when I started using Dreamweaver and learned css!")

Well, I'm back. Did you find anybody? No? I didn't think you would.

Now, you may also make a graphic logo for your "Naughty Nancy." If you just said "Oh, goodie, I love to make graphics" sit back and put your hands in your lap before you get a good slap. All you're going to do is make a rectangular box the same color as your background and write "Naughty Nancy" in it. That's it. Nothing fancy, nothing special, most of all...nothing eye catching.

Think about that for a moment. A really nice "eye catching" logo. Now ask yourself...what is it catching the eye *from*? You guessed it. Your sponsor banners. The very thing you *want* your surfer to focus on is the thing your pretty logo is drawing their eyes *away* from. Duh.

Yes, you could just write the title in a color and big font. BUT...you can't put an "alt" tag on that. If you make the same thing as a logo, you can put an alt tag on it. Guess what you put in that alt tag? If you said "Naughty Nancy," you're in real trouble. No. The graphic says that. SE spiders don't read graphics. They do, however, love to gobble up alt tags. So what you put in your logo alt tags are...keywords.

OK...you've been howled at enough. So far you have an ugly page with SE food on it. Good.

Next, we'll be talking about text and how to use it; the ever necessary "warning" and how *that* can also be used for SE food; linkback buttons and your own enter link.

One baby step at a time. That's how everybody learns to do it.

Have a nice day.

Excellent advice to the people that aren't familiar with it.

If I may, I'd like to add that a "Back To Main Page" link on your galleries should be a no no on your list. You don't want to give the surfers easy access to more content. If they really wanted to go back to view the other galleries they can use the back button. But what you really want them to do is click on one of your sponsor links..

*chuckle*

Steady, Osiris! We're not even off the index.html page yet!

(Excellent advice, however. This falls under the "you're not making a pretty site that's fun and easy for your sufer." We'll cover that more thoroughly later.)

And that's what this is...advice to the people that aren't familiar with it. To a lot of webmasters this is going to be "uh..fucking duh!" However, to the novices...this isn't.

Text. Text is good. Use text.

OK, you want more than that? Let's talk about the two main uses for text. One, is spider food. To get keywords on the page. The other is to charge up your surfer and put him in the mood to whip out his...credit card.

Let's talk about the "introductory" text, as we're going to call it, that goes right under the logo. (As I said, we're leaving the banners alone for now and coming back to them.) This text for our "Naughty Nancy" should be *both* enticing and keyword laden. Nancy is a "big boobed blonde." So far so good. Keywords. She's also rather good looking, so she's a "big boobed blonde babe." Another keyword slid in. She's a "beautiful big boobed blonde babe." Now, that new word comes from my need for coffee which is causing my alliteration fetish to kick in...and the fact that every damned word on your page doesn't have to be a keyword. "Beautiful" falls under the "enticing" part of the text. Take a look at your pics. Who is she? What is she doing? (I doubt she's just standing there, and even if she is, make up what she's thinking.) "This beautiful, big boobed, blonde babe spreads her legs and shows her luscious juicy pussy just for YOU!"

Now, when you're chosing your keywords the temptatiaon is to use keywords that describe *only* your pics. But...you're not trying to sell your pics. You're trying to sell your sponsors. Your text should reflect that. If you have a big boob sponsor, a blonde sponsor, and a babe sponsor, so far you're doing great. But...suppose you notice that you've got a "group sex" sponsor that's converting really well. (You notice this because, of course, you're very carefully monitoring your stats on a daily basis.) Can you put a banner for a group sex site on a big boobed blonde babe site? Of course you can. In your text, focus on how our Nancy just loves a good gangbang. Her favorite sexual position is group. She had a threesome with a couple of friends. (OK, we've drifted a bit, and it's not necessary to try and cram all this text on the index page, unless it's artfully done, but it can be done.)

How do you get good at this? You practice. You write something and you ask someone for advice. You ask someone to proofread for you. You write it, go make coffee, come back and read it again. And...you surf. You go check out other sites and see how other webmasters put text on their index page. Now, don't check out the *wrong* webmasters, because that can set you back a *lot.* "So-and-so just has '20 pics of a blonde!' on his index page!" Good for so-and-so. While you can't fault the accuracy, it's not search engine food and it's not likely to turn anybody on, either.

The next piece of text you'll be writing is your "warning." The all popular and quite necessary "cover your ass as much as you can" stuff. Now, it can start with "Warning!" No problems there. But think about this: "Warning! This is an adult site!" (Keyword) Or "Warning! This is an adult sex site!" (Another keyword.) "Warning! This is an adult sex site with hardcore sex pics, i.e. porn...." (More keywords.) You're using a piece of text that you have to have and also getting search engine fodder out of it. Read various site warnings and construct a "basic" one for yourself that covers the needed "this is a sex site; don't make this site available to minors; etc." Then plug it with keywords as you make your freesites.

Next up: linkback buttons.

Have a good day.

OK. Linkback buttons.

This is for the index.html page. For this page, you should put 6 - 10 linksites. Opinions vary on what is a good number. What opinions *don't* vary on is which linksites to put on your index.html page. You put the biggest ones, the ones that are more or less guaranteed to send you traffic. (I'm not going to spam linksites here. I will give you a hand with that later, either in pm or by putting up the links to some of my freesites.) You always do two things: one, is check to make sure you've been listed, either by monitoring your inbox or by going to the linksite itself and checking. Some linksites have threads on certain message boards for you to ask the linkmaster why your site wasn't listed if it wasn't. Of course, the one thing I didn't mention is the most painfully obvious: read the linksites *rules* carefully. Make sure the linkback button or table is appropriate to the type of site you're submitting. Submit to the correct category, and for heaven's sake, write a good description. (More on that later.) The second thing your going to do is constantly monitor your traffic stats. Find out if the linksites you've submitted to are acutally sending you traffic. That's valuable real estate you've got on your index.html page, and any linksite that doesn't send you traffic doesn't belong on it. If you're not getting a huge amount of traffic, but you are getting some surfers (and if the rules of the linksite permit it) consider moving that linksite to a doorway page.

Doorways. Different entrances to your freesite that allow you to submit to more linksites. These would be your "second string" linksites, smaller ones that will still send you some traffic. Treat these people with respect, though. They work hard on their sites and someday just might become "big linksites." They're going to remember their regular submitters.

Don't name your doorway pages "index15.html." Most linksites consider that insulting, and justifiably so. "You had to go through fifteen fucking pages before you graced ME with your submission? The hell with you," is muttered often. (I used to own a linksite. A little, pretty one, of which I was very proud. I never expected to be on anyone's "index.html" page - but was very flattered and grateful if I was. I didn't like knowing I was with the crowd that was 23rd on the list. Yes, I did get an index23.html once. Hurt my wittle feelings.)

The way to avoid this is by using things like "enter.html," "entrance.html," "keyword.html," "anotherkeyword.html," and so on. Then, you switch to ".htm" and do the whole thing over again. Start *small* though, because you're going to be monitoring all these linkistes with the traffic stats your host gives you and paring the linksites down. If you continually get *no* traffic from a given linksite - stop submitting to it! You're just wasting your time. (Note: there are webmasters who will tell you that doing any of this is a waste of time. They'll say "just submit your index.html page to the big sites and be done with it." They have a point.)

DO NOT, by the way, use "index.htm" as one of your doorway pages. The big linksites got to be big linksites because they're run by very savvy webmasters. They'll ban you fast if you fuck with them. A submission to the big linksites should look like this: http://www.yourdomain.com/yoursite/ That's it. You don't have to put in the "index.html" part. A submission like that makes the big linksites know you followed the rules.

The table of linkbacks goes, of course, *above* your clear, easy to find, site entrance.

More to come. Have a nice day.
