Serge,

What is the probability that a random person trying a random $100 bottle of Merlot will find it to taste better than a random $20 bottle of Merlot?

How about fish wine?

Quote:

BEIJING (Reuters) - The French used grapes, Russians fermented potatoes, Koreans put ginseng in their drink and Mexicans distilled cactus plants to make fiery tequila.
Now China is introducing fish wine.

Sun Keman, an entrepreneur in the northeastern port city of Dalian, has formed the Dalian Fisherman's Song Maritime Biological Brewery, with a plan to use his background in the fishing industry to make fish into wine.

"Different from China's thousands of years of brewing, the brewery will clean, boil, and ferment fish for making wine," the official Xinhua news agency reported.

The company already had orders from Japan, Russia and other parts of China, it said.

Tipplers might also take heart in knowing the brew is purported to be good for them.

"Experts said the wine is nutritious and contains low alcohol," Xinhua said

very close to ZERO,
French have done this test already and proved it beyond the reasonable doubts.

You know, back in the days when I was a cabinet maker, this one guy I worked with always talked about his wine... All he could talk about was what he had fermenting down in the basement, he was always working on his vines, etc...

Well, one year at Christmas he gave me a bottle. It was an old looking bottle with a piece of masking tape for a label. It said: "Apple w/ Black Raisin." I thought "oh God, what kind of moonshine is this?"

It was the best wine I have ever had in my life!

I usually get a headache and I get sleepy when I've had wine. With his home made brew I had none of that. It was absolutely fantastic, and I have never had any wine before or since that has ever come close.

I realize that I am not a connoisseur of fine wines, but that stuff rocked. Of course, after the first bottle he started charging me...
