Wow, for a brief minute I felt VERY old

I got an email today from one of my HS friends titled "Reunion". And in the email: "Hey guys NS is having it's 40th year reunion....". I had a mild heart attack thinking it was already time for my 40th freaking reunion! Then I realized the SCHOOL is 40 and they're inviting all the graduating classes for a big reunion. So, I start feeling better (and younger).

Then I realized that this summer really IS our 25th reunion and now I'm feeling old again.

I start feeling old when the media mentions how old certain stars from my teen years are... like the crew from The Breakfast Club.
Haven't attended one of my high school reunions and really don't plan to... I heard all the details from the first two and it was the same crap that was going on while we were in high school. Girl fights, women screwing other women's husbands in the bathroom and getting caught, most of them getting drunk, brawls in the parking lot, lots of catty bullshit talk... I have no use for it. That's what the message boards are for! :P

I apparently went to a VERY overachieving HS. Everyone there is a bigwig for some major corporation, owns their own huge company, retired rich or is married to someone who did all that.

Me, I'm just a pornographer. :P

I love my HS reunions - it's great to see how everyone's doing and IMHO, no one ever changes. We usually have the party at night and then a family day at the river the next day. As we're getting older and it's harder to recover, I think we need to start having the family time the day BEFORE the party....

It's weird because I only went to this school my senior year (and barely then - seems I had enough credits coming from a private school in FL to a public school in GA to graduate w/o taking my senior year. Needless to say, I took a LOT of study halls since you could leave if during study hall

) but I'm still in contact with most of my friends from there.

My son was describing someone to me the other day and said they were "old". "How old?" I asked. "In their 30's." :grrr:

Just wait until boot camp when he's been up for an hour and the sun isn't even up yet, everything he's got is hurting, and all he wants is to go back to bed... he'll be feeling pretty old! :P
