Uh, actually I'm pondering visiting Alaska during the time you guys are going to be in Tunica/Memphis, lol. In fact, I'm looking for an itinery right now. I considered moving there almost 2 years ago but it's way too expensive to live where I'd want to live. I'd like to rent a place for about 6 months starting in the early spring though and I've taken steps to do so.

Sorry it sounds like I'm whining. Gonzo and HP knew that they were pissing me off and continued. I just got tired of it. Not really a big issue. Since I've said nothing to them except to just leave me alone, I find it interesting that Gonzo "explained" to you what happened. Personally if I had been Gonzo in that situation, I would have said it was a private matter and let it go at that. Your comments about things make me realize even more that I was right in my decisions, but TBH, that's bridge was already mostly burned.

Last time I went it was daylight almost all the time - this time it will be dark almost all the time.

I actually envy you, I have been dying to visit alaska since I was 20 years old

The wife ain't having it though, she doesn't have the need to travel and see beautiful things like I do, unless it is the beach....the irony of it all, is that the beach is in my top 5 things that I hate

My brother travels extensively. Has been to every state, most countries in Europe and pretty much everywhere except Australia and Africa.

He still says Alaska is his favorite place. I fell in love last year. It's just gorgeous.

It gets warm there in the summer. Not so much as you'd need AC (none of the hotels we stayed at had AC - windows opened and there were ceiling fans) but no "beaches" I don't think.

Now I'm organizing my glacier flight tour. We took a cruise to one last year and walked near one but never took a flight. I'd hike one if I wasn't so incredibly out of shape.

I just checked weather.com for Anchorage. Miss Eve did not mention the current temps there. The HIGHS are lower than I'll go outside in. February or March is looking like a better travel time.......

When I was married our company built his tennis courts up in Athens. He and his wife then (Marianne? I think they are divorced) were very nice and he was extremely handsome. Originally met him when they filmed 1 scene of "Six Pack" at the bar I worked at. 23+ years has not been good to him. Then again, I probably look worse for wear also.

Most of "Six Pack" was shot in Kennesaw and Acworth, so we saw a lot of him while that was being shot. I was in high school at the time. I was part of the crowd at some of the shots from Dixie Speedway, no way you could make anyone out though.

During that time, he had a reputation as being an ass when the little people would try to approach him. Dunno if it was the stress of the movie and trying to work while mingling with people or just a different time in his life.

I met him again several times while in school in Athens later and he was very nice in that environment. I was dating a girl who was into horses...well, not in the way some of our "friends" domain purchases would suggest, but you know what I mean. She was on the UGA Horse Judging Team among other things. Yes, yes, there really IS such a thing.

Anyhow, many of the local horse events in Athens were hosted by Kenny at his farm. The barns out there were spectacular. His horses lived better than most people I know even today.

He was as nice and gracious as he could be, not only then, but anytime you'd see him out. He liked to go to the campus to run and use some of the recreational facilities. So it wasn't uncommon to see him at all. He looked better in a wet pair of baggy sweats and a head band than he did in that speedo.

I'm also guessing he's had lipo now....or one hell of a diet because based on what I saw before blindness sat in, he had a dinky-do.

Yes they were, and you're right - they horses were treated like gold. Mostly Arabians IIRC.

The tennis courts were spectacular too, BTW - I was in charge of QA. To this day I'll drive by a court after rain and just shudder knowing how much irregular pooling I see.
