So basically, its a global skim. I dont mind a skim to combat fraud. But how do you calculate the two standard deviations on either side of the mean? If one surfer logs into my paysite and sucks every video I got and spends all night on it thats gonna be an outliar thats gonna get skimmed right? Meaning the 1 guy that sucked all my bandwidth I'm not gonna get paid on.

The quickest way to clarify is to point out that the mean and standard deviation is not calculated based on the overall mean of other sites, its based entirely on your own members area - so the 'mean' and 'standard deviation' is only relevant to your sites.

Mathematically, all of the 'sessions' will fall within 2 standard deviations of your own mean, so you aren't going to lose out in the situation you outlined above, except that the surfer who sucks all of your bandwidth probably won't fall inside the standard deviation from your mean - which is created as an average of all of your sessions.

We will be watching closely for both surfer and webmaster fraud and in this case we would be looking for evidence of whether a) you are trying to cheat us or the surfer trying to cheat you. Your mean would have to be pretty low for you to lose out on this situation, and we will be taking all of these factors into account should a situation arise where you are being 'bandwidth sucked' ...

Partly the info above answers this, but in addition ... no 2 sites can be open at once, so the surfer is either at your site or at someone else's ... you are either being paid for a surfer being at your site or you are not being paid. So if someone is surfing your site for the entire 24 hours, that's a lot of minutes that only YOU can be earning money on ... or a surfer may browse your site for an hour and another bigger site for 2 hours but you still get paid for an hour ...

As with every new product there is going to be a learning curve on how to best maximize the system to your own advantage. The biggest, most unique, rare, niche etc sites will probably make the most money ... but maybe not! Along the way we will be providing heaps of tips based on the information we learn as we go ...

Darin, what do you expect, its GFY.

They are too concerned about jumping on the anti spam bandwagon and patting each other on the back for good 1 liners than taking advantage of a product that could bring them additional revenue. This is business, bulk email advertising is part of it.

more cheating webmasters come from gfy than any other location, so its a bit of a case of the pot calling the kettle black! a webmaster program can't bulk email, but a webmaster can tell a surfer to sign up and cancel and that's ok? its up to you if you want to allow your mind to be warped to GFY mentality.

that's why my GFY post count is still in single figures ... i'm doing ok without their business ;-)

you set up a basic cgi script to add a swoit temp password to your htaccess file each time a user visits your site from the swoit members area, as you have multiple front ends with 1 members area (did i interpret this correctly?) you would simply add that big members area to swoit ...
you are then paid for minutes that our members spend surfing your members area ...

There is no change in your current system except that you add our usernames to allow the surfer access ...

You have probably never heard of the company who runs this, they have been a behind the scenes technical developer since 1997.

This is one of their first moves into running a program of their own

7 days after end of pay period ...
so 1st & 15th .payouts are processed and payments sent on 8th and 23rd

you aren't blind, extra point being added to site now ;-)
