Is your content stolen and hanging out on any of Fabian's thieving empire or other thieving ass bastard sites?

Heres a chance to do something about it that wont cost a cent. And if you read between the lines you might see how you can make a difference even if your not a content producer.

Clearly, if content producers took the time to send DMCAs to Google, they could go a long way towards keeping the pirate sites from getting organic traffic. However, there are still many out there that think that having their site URL on a pirated video is "good exposure", and are unwilling to take steps.

I have noticed though that many porn searches these days include multiple DMCA notification texts on the bottom of the page, and often for pages and pages into the search. At least it appears that some companies are taking steps.

Sure sign of weak marketing on an studios that clinged to selling DVDs for $70+.

Any studio that thinks a single DVD of anything is worth that kind of price is certainly missing the boat. The real retail price is much lower these days, like it or not. The good news for them is that the costs for producing the content is lower, the equipment required to film it, edit it, and turn it into a DVD is lower, the process faster.

That being said, the real issue of piracy is that it kills the method by which you can lower the price, the proverbial "make it up in volume". I spent enough time chatting on piracy support sites to realize that any price is too much for many of these people now, they will waffle and complain about "not available in my market" or "not in the format I want", but when it's offered up in their market, in their format, at a low price... they still pirate it for vague reasons they can't even explain. Those people use to be the volume, the scale that paid for much of it.

The good news is that there is still a good, solid market for certain types of porn, but it's narrowed down every day by piracy.

The only other good news? Piracy is on it's back heels right now, with plenty of legal action happening and in process of happening that is making it harder and harder for the public side sites to stay up. To me one of the most interesting judgements recently was the guy found liable for stuff that came off of the TOR exit he was hosting. It's good to see the courts look at a situation and realize that there has to be some responsibility somewhere in the chain. If you cover up for a criminal, then you become the criminal. When the pirates can't hide so easily, they may consider not doing it so publicly.
