Suppose we were to move farther to the east coast, where would you all suggest?
We are bored bored bored here in Atlanta and are pondering moving farther east....the beach to be exact....we have some nice money saved and while we probably wouldn't buy a house on the beach or anything, we are dying to wake up every morning and look out our window to some water
north carolina, south carolina and possibly northern florida are looking the best right now anyone know of some nice towns or cities up and down that coast worth looking into? I would love to move to the savannah area, somewhere a few miles north or south of there... |

You remind me of my ex bat tattoed girlfriend. She was bored here. I ended up showing her how to make her own fun. That lasted 7 years until the call of the $$$ sent her packing. She was the origianl suicide girl long before the web.

Don't know you personally, so I don't know your daily living habits.
Ya might be a fucking loud ass party purple haired goofball , or maybe a quite reserved in the basement porno nerd ? who knows? But if ya move down toward Florida stay outta the little cities and towns unless you wanna be standing on line at the supermarkets for 30 minutes with a group of seniors who still haven't figured out how to pay they're bill using a debit card. (stuff with buttons seem to confuse old people ) Either hit the FL Keys, or the bigger cities like Tampa or Orlando, more of your type crowd maybe. South Carolina is a state I'd stay away from if your involved with adult industry content, Those freaking rednecks have some harsh rules when it comes to porno stuff, "if I recall correctly, I think in certain areas sex toys are illegal" So fuck 'em. North Carolina is nice depending on where you choose to hang. I personally hate Charlotte It's the pitts in my general experiences there . But for others it's a hopping town . The rest of the state is nice, but again its bblaaa small town crap. Next place maybe is Virginia, now thats a beautiful state, very laid back type people, and West Virginia nicer, but I've only driven thru Virginia, so can't tell ya more about WV. |

Houses tend to be expensive because the island is not really all that wide so you are not very far from the beach no matter where you are on the island. A certain amount of self sufficiency is always necessary down there. Nearest big city type area is Norfolk. Elizabeth City has some stuff and Manteo has some stuff but when you need real stores you are trucking a few hours up the road to Norfolk. The further south you get on the Cape the more redneck the islanders are (you could live there 50 years and they still would not consider you an islander...lolol). Don;t know what the attitude towards adult would be, Dare county itself tends towards the bible belt, redneck attitutde.

If you want warm and beach, Florida of course does that best. They also have no state income tax. You'll pay a premium, and as Rcourt says, it's filled with blue hairs. You have to get used to the smell of moth balls. Also, old people fart on you in public, that's a fact. When I think south carolina beach, I think Myrtle and rednecks...not good. But I dont know much about the living conditions. I've known one person who lived on Hatteras and loved it. Never been there personally. At that point you're edging far enough north that you'll only be laying on that beach and swimming during traditional summer months. Another thing to consider....think about a lake house somewhere. It's cheaper, and you dont have to worry about hurricanes. |

Re: Suppose we were to move farther to the east coast, where would you all suggest?
I have lived in a few cities on a few continents and two years ago I moved to the west coast and now live on a beach downtown. I have the pacific in my blood and I realize I can't live without mountains, so it was a perfect three thousand mile move.

Re: Suppose we were to move farther to the east coast, where would you all suggest?
You just keep rolling till ya find what your looking for man
I'm also the type that can't sit still in one place for to long, I've manage to move so much I hate when people ask where I'm from anymore, cuz it turns into this long story instead of just saying a place. "phew" Just in Florida alone we've moved about 5 times already, thats not counting the rest of the continent we've mingled thru. If your girl is all cool with the moving and ya ain't got no kids to be raising, Then just keep rolling till ya find your nest to start. Atlanta is nice and all, but a big city that doesn't even really have a downtown besides a few buildings and a closing down Buckhead which is being bought out little by little is not very atractive in my eyes. Besides, one of the great advantages of owning a running internet businesses is the freedom that your business is eveywhere you are and go. now thats is cool |

haha, I do the same thing...people ask "where are you from?" and my first response is "originally?"....if they say no, then uh oh...hah buckhead has never been an attraction here in town for anyone that isn't a college kid or non-stop partier...and while I LOVE to party, it still ain't my thing. we pondered florida for about 2 minutes and did away with that idea this is the area we are looking into right now....mind you, just the area, not the actual city I linked to http://www.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en...UTF8&z=12&om=1 |

Re: Suppose we were to move farther to the east coast, where would you all suggest?
The final frontier is my favorite of all place out of everywhere I've ever been in my life, it'll take a bit to get used to depending exactly where in the state you stay, things vary alot just between a few hundred miles. But it'll also take your breath away from the wonderfully layed back atmosphere, the beauty of the wild and the northern lights. If it wasn't for personal reasons I would have never came back to the Lower 48.
Once you've gone to Alaska, You'll never come all the way back I miss it there very much I'm sure you'll never consider such a major move like that. it's a big step to go so far. But I just felt the need to metion it since everyone is doing all this talk about nice places. So even if you don't move there, maybe take a few weeks sometime and visit Alaska. You wont regret it. |
