You know I just saw this post from xbiz about there awards. I don't know if I am being a sore looser or what, but webinc.com didn't even get nominated?

Please, our designs in my opinion are better then 98% of those listed.

ah well, guess we will try and be in the top 1000 next time

We won a few awards from Fay's contest, I even won one from the AVN internet show a longtime ago. Do you know how much it helped my bottom line?

I've only recently started focusing on design services as main product after my avs production so I'm not caught up on the politics of this yet, but could it be your tremendously high marketshare that is keeping webinc away from these 'design' competitions? Most names I saw listed were one man armies.

In essence this is a competition for second - third place.

Well adult, or non-adult as well, design "competitions" ARE ALWAYS subjective and almost always influenced by sponsorships/corporate structures.

Those designs look good.

Reminds me (and I'm a new DV producer) of my 100's of hours taken making scenes pace and build properly, with good sync to soundtrack and/or effects placed right and then have viewers watch the DVDs and after 45 sec. say "Well... where is the fucking?" Attention spans seem to be at 30-45 sec in general.

I guess that's why everyone loves stills.

It could be, I am not sure, and not too worried about it.

Look when I made a webinc.com a design company abour 2 1/2 years ago, I did so because I wanted to put out a high quality product for my fellow webmasters at a good price. As I have said many times, there might be 10000 adult designers out there, but only 3-4 of us, that can produce the quality to convert on a daily basis, etc, etc.

The marketplace is the real judge of course. I could be wrong, but I think we probably get alot more orders per day then alot of other companies.

The webmaster has too choose which company they feel will do the best with the product there trying to get the customers / surfers to purchase.

All business is about the same, diff. is what you are selling / promoting.

Does "quality" convert always? It seems like ad placement is the biggest factor...

If you have a high quality product, but no ad $ or big sponsors to pour backing into you, only a segment will be able to see it and buy.

most of the time High Quality does convert, but not always, depends on the product, traffic, etc.

we do our best to give high quality, use good text, etc so it does convert well.

Yeh ads do help promote your company. we have like 2 ads out there, that's it. In this business, mostly word of mouth should work well.

Man I'm always playin' catch up lol ..

I was asked to be a judge for that contest for another category other than design .. so I did ... but I had NO IDEA I had even been nominated for something until someone sent me the actual link to that site .. then a day later I was sent an email notice and a link button. So I'm just going along working day to day with no clue I was even up there lol.

As far as I'm concerned Todd's guys do just as good of work as anyone else listed there, if not better ;-)) I honesty can not see why they would not have been nominated.

Heck, I'm just ONE LITTLE GUY in the whole adult industry, as long as I can generate enough work to keep ME busy than thats all I really worry about. Being '#1' at anything was never of any concern to me personally.

it's be nice if all those sites were linked.

and WebInc not being on there just ain't right.

I was just joking about the PS classes...I hardly ever use PS anymore anyway. I could not stand to design full time. Its too boring for me. I like new stuff once in a while. Mike keeps me busy with lots of new things. I really like that.

When I first came on board Mike paid my way down to New Orleans and gave me plenty to get started on.

After one week I knew I was lucky.

The fringe benefits alone are enough to make anyone never want to leave!

Seriously though....even if someone offered me double what I was making now...I would not leave. My co workers are not just people I work with...they are my friends...including MikeAI. We are sort of like a family at HiRise...and I would not trade that for money.

You just can't find that anywhere else.
