LisaA - I remember she was supposed to be at Faye's Secaucus show in '98 and she didn't show (but her supposed partner did). The next week she made up some excuse about being out with an ex-Green Beret friend of hers and they got jumped in a parking garage and the Green Beret killed one of the attackers before he got stabbed and she got hit or something. She said she missed the show because she was watching over her friend while he hovered near death's door. Found out later that the guy who was supposedly her partner was really her. I was with BannerMaster Matt at the time and we shared a booth with Mojo and the guy who was really LisaA (damned if I can remember his name). We kep thinking that all the stuff the guy was saying was shit and a few months later we found out it was. Damn that was a long time ago.

hey everyone,

so many damm names you all are throwing around

Khan, gotta say he was a cool dude.

Jon-wetlands, did well with his sites and good at getting media exposure

There is so many people that have came and gone in this industry.

Sometimes I still miss those flat board days of ynot and netpond.

Seems like our community was more tighter back then.

A group of us were on a conference call that night.

and we all decided if we were the general we'd give it to him for the publicity.Sure enough...he won :-)))

Ya know he used it in part to buy hits...to his FREE sites.

He was always going on about "when I delievered pizza" '-)))

Serge gave him an extra grand and reaped half the publicity. ;-)))

What about Sylvia the password trader on Netpond.

(ran an antique shop in Vancouver LOL)

Brad bought traffic I think.

Sparky. Always liked Marc. Enjoy bumping into him at shows. Agree with you Tony, he's always been one very smart cookie.

Terry, he's still around; bumped into him recently in fact.

Mistress Marina I think hooked up with Steve from PornQueens or something. But last I heard of that/them was a good three years ago.

Q'on/Budda is still around, but off the radar.

Slav, so that's what happened to Koko!

Agree, Stan should show up more often. But then, so should Matt. I can't remember the last time Noah posted anywhere either.

Cyberglyde (sorry Sharky), Hunter, Smokey, the UAW bunch, remember them?

Melody is still around, but another one sailing beneath the radar.

That guy Nero - shave his head and he'd look a hell of a lot like Amp.

Ian - IanX? Posts as Gothweb over at GFY and runs BloodMoney (goth sites), joined up with Sykk and CyberPunk a little while back and put his sites into Dark Dollars but it didn't work out, pulled the sites back out and got re-engergized running them solo again. Takes fantastic fucking photos, like art.

Gramma is still around. Had Semenex (make your cum taste good) but shut it down (the affiliate program anyway) in October of last year, still has GrammaCash and posts once in a blue moon over on Tom's Newbie Booster. I still haven't found anything to replace those semenex ads.

DJ got together with Timbo and they're running Adult Paymaster and having a great time, just recently helped sponsor a dinner with ARS down in Florida at Internext.

Jon from Wetlands is still around and is still in the media frequently, he posts over at Amateur Masters pretty regularly.

You know you're a newbie when... you only know about 1/3rd of the folks that are being listed off

Serge you should put out an APB on all of these people and if they're still around, get 'em to go to the PHB. Kinda like the Veteran's Party at Cybernet Montreal last year - I wasn't going to go because I was definitely not a veteran and Diamond Jim kindly loaned me half of his time in the business so I'd qualify :P

Sheeesh, I don't know any of them. But to be honest, until recently i thought webmaster boards were all worthless wastes of time! Boy was I wrong. I really ignored boards for too many years, I kick myself in the ass constantly for my lack of insight on that. No telling where I would be right now if I had used this resource when i first started out.

Spaz, the boards are NOT what they nused to be but still remain the MAIN source of webmastering related information, news and bits and pieces of common sence.

...and most important of them all-
the boards are THE best place to learn people,
make contacts, network without:
hangovers, less broken promisess than at the shows, etc...

Serge, Thanks for your reply.
I have come to realize the importance of getting to know others in the biz. Believe me for about 3 years (not long by all of yours standards, but long for me) I had my head in the sand. I remember when GFY first started, I joined at the urging of a friend of mine. I took a look, saw nothing but flaming going on, and went back in my hole. I'm not afraid of a good fight, but i want to learn/do business on the boards, not make enemies ya know?
I finally started posting on boards about 1 -1 1/2 years ago, and have learned a lot.

here comes the smoke up Oprano's ass

I like this board, this one will probably end up being my home as long as I am welcomed And Gonzo being full time is just an added bonus for me. Now I will just sit back and see what I can learn

enemies...ahhhh...

1) I don't know ANYBODY who made one single enemy on the boards,
all this "one persona bickering with another board persona" is as serios as any soap opera you see on TV

2) some people are worth being avoided and I usually know in 5-6 posts the people I'd never do business with.

This is how it works:
thro shit on one's head and measure the response from the person when person is at his/hers worst.

I did that with Joe Holler (and became friends for life) with MikeAI and became partners in Oprano, Nick, etc...
I have MUCH longer lasting relations with people I knew thru the "piss" than with the people I was "buddies" from the get go..

Heh heh Giving away your secrets (j/k) I havent been doing the board thing anywhere near as long as you have. And for me it has been a trial and error kind of thing.
I am sure I will eventually pick up on a few things, if i stay in business long enough.

Oh my god..... that link is priceless.
It has to be the oldest photo albumn around!
It even has a pic of the original Spanky - http://www.netpond.com/members/album/spankys.jpg - which we bought in 1998 - so it has to preceed that date.

I remember most of these people in the thread....

Sparky is definately one of the smarted people I know.
I miss DannyM, he was a funny guy.

OF course Ian and the Fly Scquirrels !! haha I miss harassing him.... he was so easy to provoke.

Khan and Roseann are doing well, focusing mainly on mainstream ventures, but still behind the scenes in some adult. I talk to them about every 3 months, Roseann is even an author now! http://www.secretoflife.com/

I'm not sure if this guy goes back as far as some of the others... but what happened to CAM?

Last I heard, he was pending trial on some drug charge.

Going through that album,,,

about 90% have dissappeared off the face of the earth,

Khan was always giving me shit for blind links and stuff.

Mainly cause I'd change my site and cover it with blinds and stuff ;-)))

Best thing about YNOTs toplist was that at midnight you could just sit and click your link (or build a bot) for 5 mins and fly up to the top.ALLEDGEDLY ;-)))

Then you'd get all this traffic that had never seen a blind or console in their surfing life..... ;-)))

1 - Ya'll are fuckin OLD! ;-) I dont recognize 50% of the names mentioned at least.

2 - Sure are a lot of friggin FELONS in our midst. Must be higher than any other industry.
