Default Suppose we were to move farther to the east coast, where would you all suggest?

We are bored bored bored here in Atlanta and are pondering moving farther east....the beach to be exact....we have some nice money saved and while we probably wouldn't buy a house on the beach or anything, we are dying to wake up every morning and look out our window to some water

north carolina, south carolina and possibly northern florida are looking the best right now

anyone know of some nice towns or cities up and down that coast worth looking into?

I would love to move to the savannah area, somewhere a few miles north or south of there...

Don't know you personally, so I don't know your daily living habits.
Ya might be a fucking loud ass party purple haired goofball , or maybe a quite reserved in the basement porno nerd ? who knows?
But if ya move down toward Florida stay outta the little cities and towns unless you wanna be standing on line at the supermarkets for 30 minutes with a group of seniors who still haven't figured out how to pay they're bill using a debit card. (stuff with buttons seem to confuse old people ) Either hit the FL Keys, or the bigger cities like Tampa or Orlando, more of your type crowd maybe.
South Carolina is a state I'd stay away from if your involved with adult industry content, Those freaking rednecks have some harsh rules when it comes to porno stuff, "if I recall correctly, I think in certain areas sex toys are illegal" So fuck 'em. North Carolina is nice depending on where you choose to hang. I personally hate Charlotte It's the pitts in my general experiences there . But for others it's a hopping town . The rest of the state is nice, but again its bblaaa small town crap. Next place maybe is Virginia, now thats a beautiful state, very laid back type people, and West Virginia nicer, but I've only driven thru Virginia, so can't tell ya more about WV.

Someone has beach fever!

You remind me of my ex bat tattoed girlfriend. She was bored here.
I ended up showing her how to make her own fun. That lasted 7 years until the call of the $$$ sent her packing.

She was the origianl suicide girl long before the web.

it isn't the city at all though, we LOVE Atlanta, it is just my nature, I love roaming constantly...if it wasn't for this damn work and wife thing I would be backpacking across europe for a year or walking my way through costa rica

but since I am married and have to be somewhat grounded, she and I make the compromise of moving and living in new place here in the USA

hell, if it wasn't for her family and her wanting to be close to them we would be the fuck out of the USA and living somewhere in Spain, France or Australia...but she likes to remain close to her family

You want to make a real change? Head to somewhere like Boston or somewhere in the upper Northeast. Yeah, you'll get winter but that will be a big change rather than the same boring ass climates you get in the south and south east. You won't see a prettier site than the leaves turning in the fall. And winter si quite beautiful as well. Quit wimping out and live in a REAL climate.

I lived on Cape Hatteras for 4 years. The Outer Banks is a great place to live. KDH is on Dare island (North end of Cape Hatteras) so it is not as isolated as Hatteras island. During the summer there is lots of partying and stuff in Nags Head (right next door to KDH), during the winter it is much quieter, not much to do except walk on the beach, fish or surf.

Houses tend to be expensive because the island is not really all that wide so you are not very far from the beach no matter where you are on the island.

A certain amount of self sufficiency is always necessary down there. Nearest big city type area is Norfolk. Elizabeth City has some stuff and Manteo has some stuff but when you need real stores you are trucking a few hours up the road to Norfolk.

The further south you get on the Cape the more redneck the islanders are (you could live there 50 years and they still would not consider you an islander...lolol).

Don;t know what the attitude towards adult would be, Dare county itself tends towards the bible belt, redneck attitutde.

Well, I have sat down many night with my lady and asked that same question

the answer that always comes up is "we haven't seen and lived enough"

My goal since I was 10 years old was to travel, see and live, as many places that is possible...so, while you may be content where you are at, I have not lived and been everywhere I can be

you only live once, why spend it in the same place?
like I said earlier in the thread, if it wasn't for sam's family living relatively close, we would be living overseas....In my life I need to see, hear and breathe as much as possible, and that involves moving and travelling and sucking it all in as much as I humanly can!!!!

You just want ocean view or do you actually wanna be able to play in it a large portion of the year or at least have it warm enough to lay out?

If you want warm and beach, Florida of course does that best. They also have no state income tax. You'll pay a premium, and as Rcourt says, it's filled with blue hairs. You have to get used to the smell of moth balls. Also, old people fart on you in public, that's a fact.

When I think south carolina beach, I think Myrtle and rednecks...not good. But I dont know much about the living conditions.

I've known one person who lived on Hatteras and loved it. Never been there personally. At that point you're edging far enough north that you'll only be laying on that beach and swimming during traditional summer months.

Another thing to consider....think about a lake house somewhere. It's cheaper, and you dont have to worry about hurricanes.

I have lived in a few cities on a few continents and two years ago I moved to the west coast and now live on a beach downtown. I have the pacific in my blood and I realize I can't live without mountains, so it was a perfect three thousand mile move.

You just keep rolling till ya find what your looking for man
I'm also the type that can't sit still in one place for to long, I've manage to move so much I hate when people ask where I'm from anymore, cuz it turns into this long story instead of just saying a place. "phew" Just in Florida alone we've moved about 5 times already, thats not counting the rest of the continent we've mingled thru.
If your girl is all cool with the moving and ya ain't got no kids to be raising, Then just keep rolling till ya find your nest to start. Atlanta is nice and all, but a big city that doesn't even really have a downtown besides a few buildings and a closing down Buckhead which is being bought out little by little is not very atractive in my eyes.
Besides, one of the great advantages of owning a running internet businesses is the freedom that your business is eveywhere you are and go. now thats is cool

haha, I do the same thing...people ask "where are you from?" and my first response is "originally?"....if they say no, then uh oh...hah

buckhead has never been an attraction here in town for anyone that isn't a college kid or non-stop partier...and while I LOVE to party, it still ain't my thing.

we pondered florida for about 2 minutes and did away with that idea

this is the area we are looking into right now....mind you, just the area, not the actual city I linked to

The final frontier is my favorite of all place out of everywhere I've ever been in my life, it'll take a bit to get used to depending exactly where in the state you stay, things vary alot just between a few hundred miles. But it'll also take your breath away from the wonderfully layed back atmosphere, the beauty of the wild and the northern lights. If it wasn't for personal reasons I would have never came back to the Lower 48.

Once you've gone to Alaska, You'll never come all the way back
I miss it there very much

I'm sure you'll never consider such a major move like that. it's a big step to go so far. But I just felt the need to metion it since everyone is doing all this talk about nice places. So even if you don't move there, maybe take a few weeks sometime and visit Alaska. You wont regret it.

Alaska has always been an interesting thought as a place to live for me as well. Very unlikely though as my roots run deep here with family and friends all being right here.

But if i ever did decide to escape, Alaska has some appeal. No state tax. Affordable property. Though getting supplies, repairs, etc would be a bitch.

The long days and nights are no problem, I can sleep in daylight or dark. I also dont need to be around big crowds.

The problem is toys and food. I'd have to totally change my lifestyle and eat in regularly. And getting toys imported would cost a bit. I could keep power online with redundant generators, big batteries, etc. But I have to wonder how reliable the internet is that far north. A 90 day outage while waiting on a thaw would suck major ass.

I think you need to learn more about Alaska....
I have been there a couple of times and one of the big problems is bugs. Huge amounts of blood sucking, flesh eating, flying, crawling bugs.

Hahaha, I thought you knew the mosquito was the Alaska State Bird

And yup, people still live in igloos, like 90% of the lower 48 believe.
Lets keep it that way

Turn off the Discovery channel, Bitch slap Robin Williams in the back of the head, tell rhetorical to stuff the big bugs up his ass,
and Screw Mons Venus.

All you need to check out is:
http://www.akbushcompany.com/

Allot of regular beauties work there, But mostly all the popular girls and performers come up from all around the United States including Canada and Russia to do shows and spend from 3 weeks to 3 months, depending on the time of year, and if they work the cat houses or not. They rake big $$$ then go back home LOL

so, after some talks and discussion we have narrowed our online visual search to this area for now

we are going mid-august to drive up and down that coastline and see what kind of feel we get

it is a very convenient location goes though as far as our families and stuff like that

my mom and dad live down there and love it, it doesn't seem like it is really for us though from what I can tell...plus it is florida, so that is a -1 on the point scale right off the bat...
