Man I am so fucking excited!! I am having a hard time containing myself and it is nearly 3:30 AM!!

I jsut got home and have been laughing my ass off at the SPIN the democrates are trying to put on this HISTORICAL victory by Bush and the Republicans!

No time EVER in USA history has the party of a first term President at the off year lectiosn picked up seats in the HOUSE and the SENATE!

The American people have given me faith back in this country - at least for a little while!

Democrats cannot get over themselves, and neither can the press - they have been saying how bad the Republicans ar going to get creamed. They are eating major crow now!!!

If I was Saddam Hussein I would be trying to makea deal real quick, or taking out more life insurance.

I hope we see some tax cuts very soon as well, maybe capitol gains cuts, etc....

We will finaly get to appoint some judges that the Democrates haev been holding up!

Bush won in Florida AGAIN - the democrats made that vote a referendum for Pres. Bush.... the dems spent hundred of millions, sent in jesse jackson, james carville, clinton and other cockholsters - and they LOSE!!!!

I would love to have spent the night with Gehphart and Dashele!!!

I could go on and on.... but I doubt anyone is up ( actually Sweet T and I are talking about it!!) to live this moment with me... plus Billy got me drunk... and I will have to rest up because I have a LOT of shit to talk about!!!

GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!

I am almost in tears laughing at all the spin the dems are doing right now... they are clueless - they are lying right in front of the American people - they are a laughing stock!! They should figure out they need to move to the right, get hawkish on foreing policy, cut taxs, and stop raping the American people - trying to turn the nation against itself with their POLITCAL CORRECT BULLSHIT!!

SOMEONE PLEASE TAKE MY SOAP BOX!!!!

This monopoly makes me nervous. I like a little gridlock.

Mike, I don't think it's Bush. It's the conservative media. (see Fox). I know people that were bonified fence sitters a few years ago that all watch "O'Reilly Factor" now. I am sure there are many more.

Florida voted in a law than bans smoking at restaurants. Interesting. Maybe I'll live a little longer.

it means he has a BIG chance of losing the second term.
the system itself is designed to balance the influence of
all parties out.

"for every outspoken moron, there is an equal and opposite outspoken
moron"

Bush is popular because of 9/11. i think he would have been hammered
in every way (lagging economy, Enron/WorldCom etc etc)

The funny thing is that Dems had so much great ammo and come off like
a desperate bunch of centerless whackos. they lack leadership, focus and
a plan. it was theirs to lose and they lost it.

but just like when Clinton got elected and the dems then lost the House and Senate as a result... there will be a similar reaction to this. It means bush will lose the second term. The only way he will not lose the second term is if he does something outstanding in Iraq (i.e. throws Saddam out, puts in a new government, gets international support for that government and keeps himself in the spotlight on that issue) that will only be relevent if the timing is good. the public is fickle. public opinion even more so.

if i had to be though, i would say he will not get a second term. thats how the system works.

Bush is definately on the hot seat now - he has to get things moving, on the economy, war on terrorism, iraq, etc...

He now has th ability to get things done, and the American people are going to hold him to it. I am sur the democrats will be jumping on him as soon as possible on every little issue.

Remember the Dems should not have had the Senate the past year anyway - it was a defection by Jeffords.

I have faith in Bush, he is not his father... and this bodes well for making us a secure country again.

Historical anonaly would be more like it. IMHO, it's much less a big deal than some would like to believe, but hey, if it makes you feel good, go for it. I'm sure the Reverend Attorney General, his prosecutors, and the new slew of 700-Club approved judicial appointees will reserve a special exemption for conservative webmasters. Your comment about the judges is one of the most laughable thing I've read ... somehow or another I don't think you were nearly as concerned about judges during the previous Administration. That's just a little more partisan flatulence ripped straight out one of the oft-discussed playbooks.

The "massive support" that the reps are claiming for Bush is still every bit as shallow as it was for his father. "Landslide" Bush did an admirable job of getting the party faithful out at a time when the Democrats are reeling. If the Democrats find one candidate with just half the set of testicles of Harry Truman, the current Administration can go back to the oil bidnez and the churches, wondering what the hell happened to them.

PD,

I can tell you can barely hold back. C'mon, let it all out. I know you are pissed. Tell us how you really feel.

On another note, I was personally happy to see most all the anti-gun pols go down.

Actually Mike there is a historical precedent to show that this election was more about a bump for Bush as a result of 9/11 than it was Bush himself as the same thing happened with Kennedy after the Cuban Missle crisis. Quite normal to have people gravitate to the CIC's side after something like that.

JR, I'm getting a little tired of having my patriotism questioned, that's all. Sure, I find the glee the republicans are showing over this "massive" victory obnoxious, let alone predictable.

The Democrats beat themselves ... and Bush gets the credit.

I heard them talking about it last night JR. But I looked a little more and I think Kennedy picked up seats in the Senate and only lost one in the House which is quite similar. I'd have to look closer to find out for sure.

The Democrats were very poor losers in the last presidential elections. I don't think they'd be any better sports if they'd won.

HAHA Democrats are such sore loosers... it is great.

They do not understand that they are a party that has no vision, all the do is attack republicans, and foul things up. They try to scare the people, jsut like PD is doing with his Ashcroft, 700 club, Falwell Bullshit!!

Bush is a moderate Conservative at best... he has hired competent people who have done a prety decent job. Especially in foreign policy...

He is going to revamp his Economic people, we got a 1/2 point rate cut which was shocking, we are going to be in good shape!

TE - from what I read the first time a sitting president gained in the house and the senate in an off year election, first term since Teddy!!

Democrats are besides themselves.... which makes this victory even better....

LET IT ALL OUT PD.... spread the lies and misinformation - the American people know better!!

Mike,

I think the biggest thing going against Bush is the economy. I am no fundamentalist, so I have no reasons or rationales.... and I certainly do not believe the President has much of impact in determining the outcome.

From a technical and cyclical perspective, I think we are at a very dangerous time economically -- especially with the dollar. I believe that although equities look positive into January, it is another shit sandwich from there. Bonds are not a lock in either, but will perform better. Gold will prove to be the performer IMO.

2003-2004 are critical cyclical periods tied to many equity, middle eastern and war related events of the past. I think we are likely to see some tough times with some really interesting twists. (perhaps another change in currency with total recall of old currency -- this will fuck with the terorrists, money launderers and drug dealers) or (escalations of war that prove detrimental)

Time will tell.

few questions

what's all this about glee?
if there is all thus Glee shouldn't there be a Glee Club?

The President get way too mcuh blame or credit for the state of the economy

Clinton was Pres during a new market boom time (as well as interesting chefs - they were cooking books)
Bush is Pres during the contraction/consolidation period of that boom and the chef dance

that is all - back to wonderland, haven't caught up the that rabbit yet

WIG yo uare very right about the President and the economy. However, if you had to choose between a democrat and a Republican who would you choose?

Economy is important, but right now in my mind the #1 issue is NATIONAL SECURITY - and that is where I think republicans - especially the team Bush put together will serve us well!

Now if the Republicans will only force feed the judicial nominations down the Democrats' throats, I will be happy.

Buff I think you will see tons of Judges being appointed... I think the liberals will try and hold it up some of them in the senate by filerbustering, but that cannot last forever!!

The Falwell stuff is all bullshit, Mike? You smoking some of Torone's stuff, or what? Who do you think got your boy there? Who do you think got your boys there yesterday? Just because they've learned to be quiet about it doesn't mean they aren't there. It sure wasn't the National Council of Churches old GW ran to back in the primaries - it was Bob Jones, who makes Falwell positively liberal. Check the Senate voting record of your Attorney General, Mikey. Ashcroft is a man on a mission - and we are among the many in his sights. This guy spent millions of dollars in Missouri money defending "anti-abortion" legislation that any reasonable anti-choice third year law student could have told him didn't stand a chance. If I were a Bush supporter I'd be damned uncomfortable with those ties, too. But what you are engaging in is called denial, Mikey.

I would be very careful about just how gleeful you get. Bragging about "Bush's" win yesterday reminds me of a story this middle-aged Attorney used to tell every time he'd get 3 drinks in him - "I struck out Lou Brock." He did - he had it on videotape. It was at a fantasy baseball camp he'd paid $3000 to attend, and Lou Brock was in his mid-50s at the time. A mid-term election is about getting out the faithful. Bush did better at it than the Democrats, because there isn't a set of balls between the so-called leadership right now. It was a shrewd manipulation of the system by "Landslide" Bush. How long will it last? That's the real question, isn't it?
