Let me preface this by saying I do not exspect to be viewed as family on this or any board. My trips to all of them are infrequent at best.
That being said, I think there are most definitely two types of definitions for family needed here.
1) actual REAL family.......by blood. As this is a personal thing, theres no need to define it. either you hold it sacred or you don't and my definition of it would be meaningless to you
2) Business family. I consider 2 people I have met over the past 7 or so years in this business to be my own personal business family. they know who they are and if they don't then one of them can shove those tasteless donuts right up his bunger heh heh. I have only two not because I am distant or distrusting of other people. Quite the opposite. But because those are the only 2 in all this time that has taken the time to get to know me, and that I have gotten to know. Either of these guys I could go months and months without having any contact with and one phone call and it was like no time has passed. They are also guys that anything I am doing, or any knowledge that I may obtain, I think if it would benefit them. And if so, I make it a point to make them aware of it. If they ask for a 'favor' and it is within my power to do it, I will do it and they owe me nothing. Friends or family don't owe, you do because you want to, not because you exspect anything in return.
Now to the non lovie dovie shit. These are also the guys I would most like to see profit other then myself, guys that I know I can tell my business secrets to and they will keep their mouths shut. Guys who will cut me in on a good deal if they, me and anyone else involved with it can profit. And these are guys i MOST want to do business with. They are also the ones who can tell me to shut my freaking pie hole if i am outta line and the ones I can call stupid mofos if they are messing up.
I would like to have a lot more people in this industry that I have relationships like this with, but the fact of the matter is, with everyones individual personalities taken into account, there is a very limited number of people that any of us can really have this kind of friendship with. As soon as ya start to number them higher and higher, the lower the value of each becomes.
Wow, this thread seems to go on forever, there is some very valuable information, some great things written by long time industry vets that i will definetely take to heart.
There are a great many things written about the company i work with, most of which i wont address. It is obvious that their are certain disagreements, these issues are being handled by the courts.
To say any more would be to fuel gossip and exascerbate the animosity among the other webmasters who seem to have taken sides, thats not what "family" is about.
JoesHo made a good point to me on another board about what is and is not acceptable behaviour so i'll follow his lead and keep the company's confidential issues quiet untill we have reached an appropriate time and place to disclose that information.
My proffesional family is made from those people who know i give my best everyday, that i never quit or give up, know that i will not shy away from controversy, love the fact that i am outrageous, outspoken and hyper-creative.My family knows i will never fail them, never come up short. My family knows I will laugh the loudest when we're up and work the hardest when we're down. Right now things are pretty good, we had a great convention, but that only means i have to go now because the best never rest and my family is depending on me to deliver. See ya !

I believe quite the opposite ... family are the ones you can air your dirty laundry in front of, and they love you anyway. family are the ones who can critisize your dirty laundry, but jumps on anyone else who does.

Family to me, at least in the Oprano sense, means that almost everyone here understands where I've come from, and how I got here.
And more importantly, understands that there is a certain person in this business who I NEVER wish to have to confront again...and who makes sure that that person, and his 'associates', are not welcome here.
They know that this is my home...and I don't want it invaded.

Ok - Azure attended AVN under The Event Magazine - Not my main company Black Knight Publishing. This is an online magazine and allowed us press access, behind the scenes, etc and it was also a favor to Azure Entertainment for taking care of me this long.
This was considered part of what "family" is taking care of who takes care of you. I would do that for anyone who takes care of me.
At 6'9" tall - anyone would have seen me including my cousin who was there was never at any time escorted by security. And I have pictures from AVN to prove it.

Melissa- Please post the criminal report number for the charges and the detective handling the case on the “Shoe incident” and the insurance fraud.

As everyone who has ever worked for us knows including talent, Larry Walters is our legal in this matter we follow the strictest of guidelines when it comes to talent and age verification implementing standards in 2257 before they become law.
BTW: We are members of ASACP and also have our own children. And of course because of the slanderous remarks I’m sending Larry this post. Man my legal is going to be way to high this year.
I do have a criminal and civil case against you, Law Enforcement has subpoenaed Adam Barish’s Bank Records as well as yours as you are aware and we are reviewing them. We also have the Im conversation and you’re telling customers to wire funds to an outside bank and all the other conversations (once my case is done I will post them here if the board wishes.) I have signed sworn statements from people that might shock you, all the BS you tell everyone will come out in the case.
The rest I will leave to the judges and the Legal teams. Its funny you say you did nothing but since you left sales the first month were up 130 percent and up over 300 percent the following month. Hmm makes one wonder. We here at Azure know what happened as so do others close to the company. Once our case have been completed we will then respond to any and all questions but we will not “take the bait” and jeopardize our case against you, Melissa, or Adam and the people that assisted you. We do apologize to the board for these posts, dirty laundry is never pretty.
Also Melissa it was wild at the booth at Internext, I can’t tell you how many people have come us to us telling stories about you and how you screwed them, it was like we have joined a club, the “Screwed By Melissa, Billinguru, Davies, what ever her name is now Club” Quite enlightening…
Now for My 2cents on Family
There is your blood family the people that stand behind you and love you no mater what, your children that look up to you and follow your every word action their everything you can see it in their eyes every time they look at you. The people who would give anything to each other in some cases even forfeit a life to protect another
Then there is your Business family, this is the family that work together to grow, spends hours and hours together to achieve (most of the time) a common goal. These bonds can run deep and when they break can cause huge fall outs do to the link or bond that has been formed through the time effort and struggle it take to make business happen.
I am not a big posting person, I read the boards all the time and each board is a community or family, like bonds are created but these are only words and can only go so far as to develop a family bond. So I guess in my humble opinion the boards can be a foundation to developing relationships that can further into stronger ties.
If you look at the industry as a whole we are all part of one huge family the “Adult Industry Family” Ours is a small group even with all other aspects combined (Internet, Home Entertainment, etc.) and should all work together to protect our family and its goals. Will everyone get a long…nope, every family has its issues its part of life but we are all working towards the same goals, in an industry that is not exactly loved by those on the outside (Yet they all use our products) that alone binds us in ways other industries do not and unites us even if we don’t care for everyone in the industry (we are only human)
I think it has been established that Melissa is OUT of the circle of trust.

Explain why individuals of your company come to WRS/Macdaddybuck's party and start yelling at one of the content producer's I work with closely, loudly proclaiming with our food and drinks in his hand at how he doesn't have anything to do with theives.
I said it on GFY, and I'll say it here. From that outburst at our party, I would not do business with your company and if asked, would not recommened anyone to do business with you.
I don't give a fuck what your problems are with any one else, but to be a right fucking asshole at a free party we were doing for our clients is not only unprofessional, but a public slap in the face.

Easy Nick what Anthony has to say about someone rudely bashing one his content suppliers is directed at me and my yes "innapropriate" behaviour, while my behaviour may have been innapropriate, something a few people have pointed out and a message that i have taken to heart from them, the message is not. Anthony your "content provider" is a crook, operating in cahoots with Ms Voitenko, I felt it was in everyones best interrest that they should be alerted to being in the presence of of scum. All I've heard are excuses why such unprofessional actions were perpetuated on our party. So far, we were disrespected because of your "Previous" history, nothing that we did.
A very smart man told me once, "Excuses are reasons for failure".
No matter what your problems are, the actions I witnessed gives me enough information for me to form my own views of who I would or would not do business with.

I know who you are, and frankly showing me your pic makes me think you want to throw down. Maybe I'm taking it wrong, it looks like a chance at intimidation, which if you ask around, doesn't mean shit to me. If I'm wrong and you just love showing your pic, then it must be my imagination.
I didn't blame you, read my first post. As for catching a brew, maybe in the future after all this clears up and I don't have to deal with this bullshit.
