I went to school in the Channel Islands. Which was occupied in WW2.

I don't like people who judge europe as one country. "Europeans" are pussies? So are the americans, no.. not the people from US, but people from both of your fucking continents are pussies. I don't see the point to make my country seem like the best place on earth, nor put other countries down. National pride is one thing, but you've overdone it so badly it's lost it's meaning.. if you for example had those american flags only on flagpoles a few days out of the year it might mean a bit more. But seeing dirty american flags tied to a pick-up truck is close to blasphemy (if you believed in god. :P). But what do I care, I don't. I just have a dull moment and wish to post. so blow me.

All right, now, TGF ... there is an awful lot of what you say I agree with. I never claimed finland to be perfect, you are claiming USA is..
about finland in MY opinion, not sure about facts;
1) We've only been independent since 1917, but you americans seem to forget that you are a VERY young country as well.
2) I take pride in being a finn, but I do not rub it on you and try to convince I'm better than you.
3) Finland is the only country after ww1 to pay their war debts in full. But after my rant I can't take credit in that. I didn't pay them. You shouldn't be judged or judge by what your fathers or their fathers have done either.

Well, now ... there was a spectacular example of the prowess of Soviet arms for sure.
They did in fact win, although the Russians lost 4 times the 25,000 Finns killed (and I don't think that figure includes the number of officers Stalin expressed his permanent displeasure).

Holy shit. That's Tony Halme, he was voted to the parlament last year. Got the MOST votes, very very patriotic guy. Then he overdosed on some drugs, got into a shooting incident and was in the hospital for a few weeks in a coma.
