I think you may be right, but I also think that she doesn't have the sheer star power or the overwhelming looks to truly get people interested. I don't think she brings quite enough glamour to the game. She has a picture the other day on Perez Hilton (I wonder who paid for it to be there), and she didn't look to be all that.

Ok, someone might want to discuss "Keynote" with future speakers.
I'm afraid hearing about the "history of the adult business" from a child that hadn't yet been born when she is telling me about "how it was in the Video tape days."

I was there. And I'm not so old, that my feeble, elderly mind has clouded over.
The rest of her keynote seems to have been primarily self promotion.

I also wasn't very impressed with "the room" provided for the keynote. Would a little decoration have hurt?

I wasn't there, maybe it looked snappier in person?

WOW! What was AVN thinking?? I just forced myself to watch that entire fiasco, and she was awful. Not just for herself, but for the industry as a whole. Someone over at AVN really needs to look up "Keynote Address" in a dictionary. (someone please explain to me how this was, in any way, a Keynote Address!) She should have talked about the state of the industry as it is now, and the thrust of the show. not about herself.

She spent a couple of minutes talking about the past, and the supposed way everyone used to work together (which just never happened). Then she went on about herself, her new company, and how she was going to finally make good movies! She basically shit on all the producers in the audience! In the Q&A section, she also shit on the public! This chick is poison and no one should ever let her speak again!

Isn't AEE owned and run by AVN? I had thought it was and always had been. I can't see the EMA running it, especially when they have companies like Blockbusters on their board. A number of the board members are very vocal in their anti-Porn stance.

I was pretty sure I read a while back that while AVN licensed their brand for use in conjunction/ by the Expo, they have very little to do with the Expo itself - running, managing, or arranging. But I may be missing something.

Regardless, somehow it escaped my attention when I was in this thread way back in November that we were talking about the Keynote for AEE, not I'next. Now that I realise we were talking about the show that is primarily targeted at consumers, I'm really confused as to why everyone got all sacktwisted about Sasha speaking. It kinda made sense when I thought we were talking about her speaking as keynote at the webmaster show - though it felt kinda schmucky, I got it. But having her as a speaker at a fan show?

Well ,she's who the fans want to see and hear from, most likely. So there, it makes sense. And I stand by that.

Possibly the decor and the room were purposely designed to reflect the barren wilderness of today's porn. The lack of creativity reflecting the skill of the average webmaster. Perhaps a visual allegory contrasting the complexity of character and deep vision of the speaker.
