Re: IMC President launches new anti-piracy union
WOW! That is a slippery slope. As much as I would like to support the cause, I would never want to be associated with IMC in any way. The majority of their stuff features underaged girls (at least for most of the world) in hardcore situations. While their sites are legal in the Netherlands, you'd get busted for kiddie porn in these parts!

Re: IMC President launches new anti-piracy union
It looks more like a "closing the barn after the horse got out" thing. I have little doubt that the companies who chose not to be in the illegal tube business (or had rogue ex-employees running them, sending traffic to them, and eventually selling them as a package with the mothership) find themselves on the outside looking in when it comes to traffic.
That being said, the recent shut down of Mega and a few other file lockers have moved many things around, and have given a new path by which these sites can be attacked legally.

Didn't Manwin have a similar deal it was trying to sell over at the zoo? Now that was beyond irony.

Re: IMC President launches new anti-piracy union
will it work or not... well, that remains to be seen and we believe that it will. A lot of time, effort and work has gone into setting this up and I can tell everyone quite freely that the enthusiasm within IMC to see this succeed is very high.

OK...devils advocate....400 bucks a month for a pig in a poke. Any track record or are we just gonna throw spaghetti at the fridge? And why is this different from Manwin's deal?

I know people in the business of getting shit down and they go to great lengths to get sites shut down. Some of them take the whole effort quite personally. They want the pirate gone, believe me. So, why aren't pirates destroyed through these people's efforts? Because every time you take one down, 3 new ones pop up. How come Aids still exists? I mean doctors have been fighting that one for thirty years now. So does that mean that doctors have no interest in curing Aids, just because it still exists? I cannot speak for all of the removal type companies out there and I will not name company names because that would not be prudent but I am tight with a couple of them and have seen the effort that they have made and I have seen the results. To imply that because they make their living fighting piracy somehow means they want pirates to stay and proliferate is downright insulting and quite disenguous coming from someone starting a "foundation" that will require a monetary contribution to join (and stay in): Quote:

Re: IMC President launches new anti-piracy union
Seems somewhat ironic for a company that uploads it's own content to illegal tubes.

Yes there are definitely going to be disagreements on a lot of aspects of what the ACIUF is going to be doing, their motivations and if this is a for profit endeavor or not. I would say the fees that are being charged is nothing compared to what our company is investing. The only profits we are looking to make are the ones from the increase in sales that should follow when shutting down the illegal tubes and torrents. This will not just benefit us but we believe it will benefit the industry as a whole. From content producers, sponsor programs to affiliates. It won't happen over night and it won't be easy but our commitment to the process is firm. Mr Kuppens is welcome to express his opinions on how he feels about content removal companies and you are of course welcomed to disagree with him. What is not really open to debate is that something needs to be done and pursued with gusto... that is the intent of the ACIUF and something he and our entire organization stand behind. It is absolutely fair to criticize the minutia of this but I sincerely hope you support the end goals of it as well. It is the big picture that matters here in my humble opinion |

You should consider a more affordable amount for the huge amount of small sites out there that would probably seriously help the cause. Sometimes, those that have lose sight of the reality of those who don't. |

How is this any different than Eric Green's Remove Your Content Service?

You've done nothing to "unite" anyone.. rather have taken a self-destructive stance to attack those who are already in the trenches. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Re: IMC President launches new anti-piracy union
Each campaign is different but very cost effective. Please feel free to email info at removeyourcontent dot com and we'll be happy to tailor a quote.
We provide a valuable service but should not be seen as a replacement for a traditional law firm. These people have already attacked lawyers (one of our lawyers laughed btw).. so I can't see how that's beneficial in their unity quest. Quite humorous are statements such as this "With all due respect, their objective can't be to end piracy." I suppose the same could be said about the local auto-repair dealership who is just hoping your car breaks down so they can fix it... or maybe the doctor who is praying you get hurt so he can remedy.
