Default adult titles breaking into mainstream stores -- BUBBA's now doing it

many of you listen to Bubba the Love SPonge on Sirius satellite Radio... but he streets his new DVD on thursday. IT's basically a behind-the-scenes of the crazy stunts (w/celebrities) that you HEAR on his show... but now you can SEE it when there's a topless college girl doing the pussy-shocker on Bubba's couch. (That's a real bit. hysterical. )

It's at target.com, amazon.com, FYE stores, Bestbuy.com, Sun Coast movies (that place at the local mall) etc...

Rock on, BUBBA ARMY!

It's on the same level as why GGW can run ads on TV but porn sites can't - there is some sort of weird mentality out there.

I actually tried about 4 years ago hitting up a local US network affiliate in New York State about buying overnight time. They ran GGW 30 minute infomercials, dating, etc... but they would not run anything that went to anything directly porn. No sex, no sex sites, no links to sex, no adult guides, no link sites, no nothing.

At the time GGW was all about the flash. Now it is all about what happens on their bus, which is pure porn. I don't think anyone noticed the change.

We also looked at buying late night ad time on various television stations in both Canada and the US. We were using a buying network where you can select markets you wanted to be in. Even on cable, no one would handle anything where the end result was blatantly Pornography. Adult Personals were fine as were things that involved light nudity (IE. GGW), but as soon as the Porn element came into it, no one would touch it.

My lawyer did some digging, and we found that there were no guidelines when it came to Adult ads, as long as the ads themselves met the required criteria of what could be shown or said. It's just the buyers themselves that follow unwritten guidelines. The good thing is that those can change over time.
