If you don't mind me asking,

How old is your Dad Serge ? It's very cool that he is still with you. My Dad died about 3 years ago, he is missed.

Edited in:

Very cool thing getting the pics Forest

My Dad would have been 78 this past November I think.....

I always get very confused with remembering my parents birth years

My Mom died back when I was 17, so I lost track a long time ago as to how old she would have been...etc....

I am glad you enjoy your Dad.........

oh, big time. True story:
we went on vacation and left him to baby sit Sonia.
I asked Webfather and MikeW to keep their eyes on him and call him once a day.
One day MikeW didn't call his usual time, so my dad called him and asked:
Mike, are YOU OK?

Don't often get real into my personal life here but

An old High School friend who I was very close with looked me up about 6 months back. He's a good guy, going on his 2 year chip. Really hilarious with a lot of great stories.

His Mother had passed away 3 years ago and it was just him and his 80 year old Father living in their house, no other close relatives.

It was kind of funny as they were 2 grumpy old men sometimes but they loved each other and were all each other had

His Father had a few TIA's (small strokes) and had a big stroke this past August 24th while at a VA hospital receiving treatment for low blood pressure

He never got to return home and my friend moved his Father from the VA hospital to a private nursing home due to the poor care he was receiving at the VA hospital

He passed away late Sunday night, I was at the viewing today and the funeral is tomorrow

Trying to help him make the adjustment to a different life

Guess everyday we have with our parents (as they age) can be a treasure

I'm looking at my own Father at 62 and seeing where age is starting to catch up to him

I see my Grandfather at 85 and when ever possible I try to get him to tell me all the old stories, from his childhood (he remembers bi-planes buzzing over his house as a child and he'd go down to the airfield and bug the mechanics and pilots- finally one of the pilots took him up and they buzzed his house, he came home all excited and his Father was saying "Did you see that idiot flying over our house"

He's full of great stories, from the great depression through WWII, the times he lived in California and traveled to Mexico

Maybe our children and our parents are the treasures ...... and we're just the link in-between

Agreed. All my grandparents have passed away, but I'm doing everything I can to sit down with my Dad and a tape or video recorder because even now, he tells me things I've never heard before about my family.

But some of the little things he's starting to forget and since his mother had Alzheimer's, it scares the crap out of me.

Those pictures are amazing! The architecture is phenomenal compare to what we see built these days....

That is so awesome for you to do that for Serge, Forest!!

I can't partake in the conversation about our parents....it just makes me sad.
