Maybe we could do a halftime show commemorating the VietNam war, complete with a couple of VC flags being waved and some "hippies" burning the American flag?
PornDoggy,
I have a question for you.....

should a daughter breast feed her father?

YES or NO and what the reaction of the crowd should be?

I am serious as a heart attack and expect your honest answer

in your opinion, is it socially acceptable for the daughter to breast feed her father?

why would he answer leading and loaded questions?

the whole issue is about what may or may not be appropriate at a high school football game. not about incest at a high school football game. stop picking on Texans.

Sweet. In 100 years WWII will be known as the war in which the US, Britain and France held hands and gave out flowers. All references to the Nazis and the other Axis powers will be wiped out. Everything bad should never be mentioned because then it will never have happened.

i agree. thats why the schools should sponsor a "Nazi SS Death Squad" week at the local junior high to remind the kids about the attrocities comitted during WWII. they could simulate rounding their friends up, sorting them by age, sex and health and then sending them off to either a work camp or a gas chamber. the meaner kids would be allowed to just pretend to shoot and rape people for fun.

... or maybe we could just leave it all to history classes, books and documentaries?

I don't know anything about daughters nursing their fathers ... but I do recall the closing chapter of the Grapes of Wrath. If you want to discuss art, that's fine - but we're not talking about art. We're talking about the halftime show at a fucking high school football game.

Perhaps some of you went to different kinds of schools than me, but the most offesnive thing I ever saw at a high school football halftime show was the marching band attempting to play pieces from "Tommy." It's not what I consider an educational venue - so all this crap about not teaching about the Nazis seems more than a bit hysterical to me.

my point is not "its a flag and its a terrible thing"

my point is that "its a part of history, so it's ok" is a weak argument as well. why is it relevent that its a part of history? Turks invading neighboring countries, burning villages, raping and throwing babies in the air to try to stab them in mid-flight is a part of history too. so what? are we going to not be upset at a "spear a baby" at the half time show?

glad you brought it up...
this IS the part of history which NEVER should be forgotten and always should be condemed...or it will happen again.

people do. people decide what is acceptable and unnaceptable. people decided right there on the spot that they did not like it. They had better information to make that decision than any of us do here. unlike Serge, who continually makes irrelevent referrences to Stalin as if there are some parallels between October 1917 in Russia and The Great Paris Texas High School Football Game of 03'... they made an educated decision.

people have the right to like or dislike anything...
The same people do not like the content of your sites and pronounce them illegal under community standards,

I would go further to say that the boundaries for acceptable behavior of Sykkboy, updating a porn site while listening to megadeth may in fact be a little different than the boundaries of a family of 6 at a school function.

I am not saying anyone is right or wrong. i am saying that the argument itself that "its a part of history...blah blah blah" is just as weak and silly as any other argument.
I still don't see how display of a flag during a half time show pisses so many people off...we're talking about context. It wan't like a bunch of neo-Nazis were out seig heiling the flag and singing "These Boots Were Made For Stomping", it was part of a display of warring nations of WWII. Now, if there was a man dressed as Hitler, that may have been poor taste.

Actually, the teacher who put this together should be fired for trying to something educational during a football field, because last thing we want associated with football is education....what was he thinking?

High school football game. I'm guessing the chorus of boos was 14 and 15 year old boys with nothing better to do.

It was in the south: the entire town from age 8 months to 88 was at the game.

If the local community felt it was in bad taste, then the organizers of the event would suffer their due fate. Their reputation would be subject to review and there would be consequences.

Certainly, you cannot expect to apply the first amendment equally and not have people offended.

Why does there have to be consequences beyond that?

It seems to me that to expect / request consequences beyond this is to merely express favoritism among ideological agendas.

er... thats been my point exactly. we are forming opinions based on assumptions of a writers explaination of an event.

those who were there, reacted to what they saw.

again, you are making the same argument. "its a part of history" - "its education" etc etc. I can also show an aborted fetus to a group of 8 year olds and claim its "education" - however, some would argue the appropriateness of that act based on a variety of considerations.

its fine to say "i dont see anything wrong with that" - I might agree. But to defend that argument simply by saying that "its just a part of history" etc etc, is no stronger than the arguments of those saying its innapropriate for their own reasons.

how are attrocities being forgotten?

even schools as pathetic as those in the American public education system teach about world history, wars, world war 1 and 2 and how many people died etc.

i did not know Nazis were being forgotten to the point that there was a need to remind families at half time of a high school football game about 10,000,000 plus executions and victems of attrocities. i am sure many there would have preferred the antics of the school mascot and marching band, which is probably more appropriate than your argument for a statement about mass executions and more 60-70 million lost lives.

I think your Soviet schooling is taking over. although we all appreciated the fact that the Soviet Union had a vast arsenal of tanks and nuclear missiles - as Americans just never felt that showing off endless columns of weaponry while joining huge mobs of people drunk on vodka in belting out patriotic songs to the Red Army Choir about how Moscow is the capital of the world and the West will be destroyed forever, was an appropriate way to celebrate Librarians Day or any other innane event.

but opinions do/did vary.

Our "leading programmer" is my partner who is in FL who is pretty much a genius. I thought the other full time programmer also lived in FL. I suspect you knew that already.

why do you think this is a "piss"? i thought you were just taking the time to educate an unfortuneate example of the american public school system.

I still dont know what you are talking about. i have not fired anyone that matters and no one important has quit. i assume you might be making some referrence to old correspondence with Forest or something... and no doubt you are prepared to post whatever it is just prove you can.

Like you frequently do Serge, you are proving that you are someone that should be kept at arms length, since you won't hesitate to get personal and even harm people and their business just to get post numbers up.

JR, you really beleive that I am paid per post???????
;-)))))

you only prove that I still more know your busibness than you know mine....
;-))

my business is....and you can put it on your wall and chant it daily:
DO YOUR BEST and FUCK THE REST...

I am sorry if you feel as part of "the rest" today,
and as the saying goes:
"One day you are a windshield, one day you are a bug"
;-))

as for getting personal,
I suggest you re-read the entire thread and see who drew the "first blood."

Whine all you want,
but as you know me,
I never stop in the middle of the process and once the boundaries are broken, I go "all the way"..
which incidentally,
made me what I am,
while you still learning which quote from the "greats" are appropriate to use and which one is not...

One day you learn....to pick your fights wisely

P.S. and on another note,
JR, I hope you realize that your leading programmer leaving the company in Russia has NOTHING to do with our piss, right?
Your completely lost on this one Serge. Our programming team is in Orlando. We've never had any programmers in RU.
