CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- Porn used to be relegated to a video hidden in the bottom drawer, or a magazine under the mattress. Today, it's part of everyday life.

Hugh Hefner's girlfriends have become TV's "girls next door." Porn stars have MySpace pages and do voiceovers for video games. And while "porn on demand" is standard for hotel TVs and upgraded cable packages, it's even easier to find it with a few clicks on the computer.

In April, more than a third of the U.S. Internet audience visited sites that fit into the online "adult" category, according to comScore Media Metrix.

So the message is clear: In today's world, sex doesn't just sell. The pervasiveness of porn has made sexiness -- from subtle to raunchy -- a much-sought-after attribute online, at school and even at work.

This reminds me of a few previous threads "The video hidden in the underwear draw or the magazine under the mattress" again is majorly America done.
Other cultures don't live by these moral standards where stuff like prostitution is illegal, but still the #1 selling and oldest profession in the world.
I gotta say this and please no offense to anyone, so don't jump down my shit for expressing my thoughts, but Americans have to be the most 2 faced up brought nation that ever existed. I mean where else can you tell your kids that homosexuality is wrong, But when Uncle Fufu stops by the house during the holidays, then its ok, and it's cause he's mentaly ill? "says mom" .
Other parts of the world and other cultures don't have these "Hang ups".
Only here is where children are brought up:
Believing one thing, Seeing something different, and then told to believe another.

Very interesting article, and one that I can relate to. In my early years, it was totally all about attracting the most attention: getting praise, being desired by others -- looking to others for validation. I think it's a bit of a throw-back to childhood and adolescence when girls look to others to tell them if they are doing things correctly, making the right choices.

When it comes to sex, young women are at the top of the totem pole -- everybody wants to either fuck them or be young like them. And because these women are still using others for personal validation, when they get validated for being sexually adventurous, they think that it's in THEIR best interests when in actual fact they're just letting lots of guys into their pants.

It took me about 10 years of being sexually active before I realized that MY sexual needs were important; that praise for being a good lover to other people wasn't enough anymore. I'm not blaming my lovers for behaving that way towards me, it was my own mentality that set those situations up.

I think the main issue is that young women have the least sexual experience and are way more susceptible to sexual manipulation by others, but are the most sought-after sex partners. The good news is that experience is the best teacher and after several years (and partners), most women figure things out for themselves, without too much harm being done.
