I do know quite a few who made their money and got out. Something I really should have done 10 years ago!

Like most of the old-timers, I made my REAL money last century and luckily, put most of it away. I really just stay on-line to keep busy and because we still have pretty good money coming in from very little work. I do some mainstream stuff dealing with travel and sailing, but those are more vanity projects that I do for fun (although there is money there too)

But yes, many of the mouthpieces from days gone by have crashed and burned quite dramatically!

We have spoken about this in years past.
Its still a comfortable living but yes the work is a good bit more these days.

I speak with people that arent on this board and that still make a nice living but they are working nonstop.

Its certainly given me a finely tuned skill set that I can apply for a number of projects to be comfortable with and have the appearance of being respectable past the age of 50.

You would be surprised what skill sets still work and how they are being employed.

Graham.... if you will PM me here Id like to extend you an offer for some free promo to make up for you getting fucked in the ass a few years ago. I know I wasnt involved but youve been a good friend over the years and you might get a grin out of what I am up to.

If Danny are Carol have been paying attention they are well aware of my rise to prominence in the last year in quite an odd space.

I toy back and forth with making the entire board invisible to anyone that doesnt know its here and have an id.

I again ask everyones thoughts as I certainly dont need the street cred and would be amused if the animals at the Zoo thought it was gone when in fact I took the entire community private.

I work 3x harder to make a 1/3 of the revenue. But since I was making a LOT in the past, what i do now is still not too shabby. My montra these days is " reduce expenses, maximize profit from existing traffic as much as possible".

I've got some ideas on how to revamp things here and get it making some ad money but like anything else it would take a little work to get it in place, it would involve me and i'd like to be cut in on some of the $$$ if it takes back off

If they weren't "out" by 2006 then they likely rode the ship down and didn't leave wealthy. Take LightSpeed Steve for example, probably hit his peak around 2005 and now i'd be surprised if he does more than 2K a month in rebills. A lot of these guys made good money but blew it as fast as they made it thinking it would always be there. As things started to decline, most of their lifestyles did not and they had fat mortgages and other expenses that they could no longer afford so they stopped spending as much on their business because they needed the money to pay their personal bills, futher accelerating the decline of their business. Then they started selling off lots of the toys for pennies on the dollar or handing them back over to the bank. They never saved and just rode it down all the way to the end.
