Sanjiv, all I can say is "follow the money". Find out how the Middle Men movie was financed, and you are very likely to find many of the answers you seek. There was a whole lot of somebody's money getting spent there, on a movie that few in Hollywood seemed to care about.
Follow the money, it always points to the truth.
