I didn't think so. You wish to participate in a global economy, but don't want to extend that same courtesy to non-US based businesses.

1) Time to wake up and smell the coffee. Economies are now global, just like the Internet. The 80's called, and they want their attitude back.

2) You claim to speak for the "VAST MAJORITY of Americans". Care to share the poll results? I must have missed them.

3) The flag icon you're all bent about is for making choice for preferred language, which in this case is English. If my history classes were correct that language was invented in ENGLAND centuries before the US even existed.

1. Nice thought, but American wallets don't work on the "Love everybody" principle. Waving someone else's flag at an American is likely to anger them....which leads to #2......

2. Just above this message my point is made for me. Don't see a whole lot of "flag burning" going on around this country, do you? How'd that whole "we got a right to burn the flag" thing come out a few years ago? Most Americans are closet patriots, but the liberal media (and now you) seem to want to make that somehow "shameful." Sorry, not buying it.

3. Actually, they're rooted in Latin. more recently, The Roman's put a hell of a twist on their language, when they conquered most of the continent .But, how far back do you want to go? I speak American English. I don't deny the language came from England, as did many of my ancestors. But my country is just over 200 years old, and is the most powerful nation, ever, in the history of the world. I'm thinking that earns us the right to our flag.
So, again I say, you wanna sell to me? and the same "Joe Public" I've been dealing with at the retail counter for the past 30 years? You better put my flag up there....if you're putting flags up.

Had you just put the word "english," up there, I probably wouldn't have been too upset.

So, again, back to the thread....if you want to know about it's "saleability,"

I would think less of anyone that was less proud of their flag than I am of mine. When I had the privilege to work in other countries my uniform usually included an American flag which I was proud to wear as were the folks I was working with. If they choose to come to my country and display their flag which I'm sure they're proud of as I am I have no problem with it.

As do I. I'll go you one better, I'll defend their right to display their flag in my country, and have done so.

Again, the point of the thread was 'Here's our new website, what is everyone's opinion of its marketability?"

Actually, yes you did...you said "I see that the "Ugly American" is alive and well online. {heavy sigh}" Did you mean Just me? or were you, as it is clearly intended, "stereotyping" many Americans?

Yes, I can. It also keeps Jobs right here in America. Unlike 90% of the rest of the adult "marital aids" in this industry. Your assumption about almost all of them is accurate. Not us.

"Proudly manufactured in the United States of America" and the American flag grace every box, and every Virtual Sex Machine leaving our factory.
ESPECIALLY the ones going internationally. (They of course, do have to show the "country of manufacturing Origin.")
In fact, I think you will find no less than 8 instances of it on our product.
Even the Circuit boards are made, assembled, and packaged in America.


Some "fun Facts."

Our circuit boards cost 357% more than the ones I could have made in China.
The Plastic parts are almost all made in the US, except two small plastic rings, that are either made in Canada, OR the USA. (We can't control which ones we buy, or we would. There is ONLY one supplier of Black Acrylic tubing available anywhere in the USA.)
If you open up the interface Box, you'll find our circuits boards wearing the "Made in USA" label, Fused into the board with Copper. It used to say "Proudly manufactured in the United States of America," but with Board version 6.7c there simply wasn't room, physically on the board to do it safely anymore.
The plastic cases for the board, are made in either the USA, or China. We ONLY buy the ones made in the USA, and they must be certified. We pay an extra 40 cents or so, for the specific American ones. (Depends on the quantity we order.)

The chemicals, we cook for the inside liner, have "origin USA" on their label, as required by law. Again, we would not accept anything from outside the USA.

So, almost EVERY dollar brought in from outside the USA to my company is money coming INTO the economy, and almost NONE is going out.

You'll find I "walk the talk."

Actually, it is what most "rally 'round the flag" Americans don't get: When you push the idea of "proudly American", you are in some ways pissing on everyone else.

"American Made" has long stopped meaning quality or high end, now it means something more like "assembled by illegal mexican workers in a plant owned by Asians in a state that is trying to cede from the Union".

That's exactly the attitude that pisses me off.
You SAY it has come to mean that because of the mass media controlled message of "gee, we're rich trust fund babies and feel guilty about our success, so we'll piss on the system to makes ourselves feel better."

That's not when I grew up, not how I feel, and not what "proudly made in the USA" means to me.

No mexican workers here in Central PA man, you're thinking about SOCal. We aren't part of that scene.
