Cheney, Gonzales tour disaster area, Cheney impressed

My husband's sister and her husband live in Long Beach, MS. We get daily email updates from my brother-in-law's siblings. Now...I don't mean to make light of the troubles they've had to endure, but they are most definitely NOT suffering as New Orleans is.

Put simply, Cheney had his "photo op" in an area where he could say all of those things. My in-laws say the streets are passable; the stores are stocked; my brother-in-law's biggest problem at the moment is having the people come out to help clean out his pond so that his fish don't all die as the pond is choked with debris. He has a pump putting oxygen into the water to help keep the fish alive. My neice is hand raising a baby squirrel.

Cheney wasn't there when their was no power, no water, no communications...in other words, when that part of Mississippi was touch-and-go. Long Beach (near Gulfport) would be a great place for a photo op if you wanted to be able to say "geeze...look how well everything's working."

Now...try saying that in what's left of New Orleans, not only a huge city, but one of this nations must important deep water ports.
