I agree completely.
Note that US approach to the Jewish people in during the holocaust was shocking. Not only the quota issue and blocking Jews immigrant (more like fleeing for their life than immigrating) but also the fact that US bombers flew above the largest of concentration camps fully armed and didnt bomb the hell out of the fuckers.
USS liberty - even if wasn't accident like claimed and being (for some hulicinagenic reason) a deliberate attack of some strange sort - is (imho) an dwarfish issue compared to the events (and immnse life loss) of those days.
