I'd be interested in knowing how many of those people can't get a local dial-up connection. I know quite a few parts of Tennessee where the phone lines are still rotary; and going to visit my grandfather is hell when dial-up is a long-distance call.
He *would* like to get online (he's in his 70's) to keep up with us and see pics of the grandkids, but he's not going to pay long-distance per-minute charges to do it.
