Neither traffic nor content are king, sign ups at a profit and without making the person think he was ripped off is king.
You can send traffic and get them to sign up to crap. Try doing that for 8 years and see what happens. The surfer decides it's time to not spend money. Then all it needs is a clever guy to think of an idea to give the surfers free content in any quality and pay for it with adverts. How long before that happens?
