My Target: I looked online for my calories needed to maintain weight and ate 500 less than that every day. That is 3500 calories/week which is exactly enough to lose 1 pound per week for an average metabolism - which mine turned out to be. Biggest culprit in my diet turned out to be soda. For the past 4 or 5 months I've been lifting weights 3x/week too. I read everything I could including Meni's weightlifting section on http://www.askmeni.com Weightlifting is good because muscle requires more calories than fat. So as you gain muscle, your body uses more calories in a day. Now I run and eat a lot more healthily. I never "dieted". I never used that word. I just thought "I need to think of myself as an athletic person". The problems with DIETS is they begin and end. They tend not to change your base behavior which got you into trouble in the first place. Last edited by Colin at Mar 9 2004, 01:35 PM
