Some research on the types of personalities drawn to this industry would make a fascinating subject for a thesis for a psychology doctorate.

How many fortunes were made and pissed away? Of those how many were pissed away due to compulsions such as drugs and/or gambling? And if you expand it to look not only at total busts but just those that let businesses kinda die on the vine, I think the numbers become staggering.

All sorts of reasons for people's collapses in this biz to be sure. From drugs, booze, and gambling to marriages gone bad and simple bad money management.
