I've had lots (and lots and lots) more money than I have today, and been far more miserable. I don't ever want to get back down as far as I was, say, twelve years ago. The odd thing is, I know more happy "lower middle income" people than I do "upper middle income" folks. The "class" of a person has absolutely fucking nothing to do with the amount of money they have, or how long they've had it.
