Being a Canadian taxpayer and someone who will no doubt need health services at some point in my life, I welcome this. It does not make sense to me that I cannot seek out health care from wherever I want if I willing to pay for it. I dont consider this a 'two-tier' proposition, in fact, I think that is just a buzzword that people throw around without really thinking about what it really means.

Do I think it will erode the public system? No, I think it will complement and enhance the available care in this country. The public system has massive shortcomings, and with the demographics of our population it will only come under more strain. Those with the means should be able to get whatever care they want (without replacing or supplanting public services for private ones, this is the primary caveat)
