The pirate could not understand their love, so he took the Prince into his chambers and demanded the Prince make clear his intentions.
  The Prince produced a ring the likes of which the pirate had never seen. The Prince claimed it was 14 karats.  The pirate, seeing that his sole daughter truly would be taken care of, and realizing the power of being the father of a future Queen, decided to subject the Prince to one last test. They began to drink.  When it became clear to the pirate that the Prince was a strong and hearty man, and nearly his equal with the bottle, he consented and blessed the marriage.  And the people rejoiced.
