First, when did people who work in Grocery stores unionize? WTF is up with that? Have you ever tried bagging groceries? You have tmake sure you don't smash the bread or crush the eggs or break the glass! Now they are on strike!! What a joke.
Second, in the OSU game, an Ohio State player chocked the oposing QB by the throat. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1636877 I saw the replay of it, this punk should not only be suspended from the team, but he should have criminal charges brought against him. IT was all documented on TV!!
Finally, another punk from Nebraska completely cold cocked some kid who was celebrating his teams victory. Here is a guy in full uniform including helmet, just randoming jacking some college kid in the head. KNocked him out. What a pussy he is. Here is the article. Grocery stores have been unionized for at least 24 years - I know because that's when worked for one and it was the one and only time I've ever been a member of a union. :P
When Publix opened in Atlanta, whatever national union the grocery workers are members of picketed all the stores because Publix isn't unionized. Yet Publix wins every "Best of" contest in Atlanta as far as stores and employees. Gee......

Back about 10 years ago, the workers at Safeway here went on strike... ended up shutting down all the Safeway's in the area....
They initially had some public support.... Because the original issues raised had to do with some of the more skilled workers such as the butchers (and that is a skill) and the shit pay they were getting...
They pretty much lost the support with a commercial they ran showing a line checker (you know, the girl or guy who runs your stuff over the scanner) complaining about how little she got paid this far into here "career".....
It was quickly beat up by the media and most folk with common sense who pointed out that checkers/baggers and stockboy types were not supposed to be "career" employment but rather high school and part time jobbers...
Nebraska Unniversity can suck my balls. The suspend the guy for 1 game, then actually have the nerve to say the player was "defending himself" like he was going to be attacked.
This guy is like 5'10" 210lbs of solid muscle, can bench press around 300lbs, and is in FULL FUCKING ARMOUR including a helmet - that THIS guy was worried that this dorky kid was going to hurt him.
THe guy was not even coming towards, merely past. The football player was pissed his team lost, and wanted to exact some revenge on someone. Take out his frustration. You can see it in the video, he even went moving on, looking around like he was guilty!!
They are passing the buck on this, and blaming the fucking victim!!
Who should I call or write about this? Should we start some kind of online thing on this? SOmeone needs to hold this kid, and the Univeristy responsible!

Can someone tell me why in the hell they didn't call interference when that fan grabbed that ball in the cubs game??????? WTF! I just hope they had some serious security escort that dude to his car after the game. Otherwise sports violence could have had a whole new meaning!
Yea there is strikes going on here in stlouis right now and just not but about a year or 2 ago there was a pretty large union riot that affected alot of stores nationwide as it was with AWG who is a wholesale distributor to alot of large chains. My father is a teamsters union member and was affected by it, the outcome was in our favor.

FYI, grocery workers have been organized in many, many places for as long as I can remember. Here in the United States of America they have the right to do that, even if they don't meet the Mike AI skills test.

Just heard on the radio that security did have to escort him out of the stadium. People were throwing beer at him, screaming they were going to kill him, etc.

Labor is where I draw the line economically. I am pro union and pro living wage. I don't understand how we as a society are willing to allow people to work for $6/hr when food and clothing and utilities and rent are so expensive. No one can live on that.
