I'm curious. what are the best nonadult sponsors out there?

What makes them the best? How do those qualifications differ from the adult world.

Do you make near the money you make from adult with them?

me thinks this silence may be an indication that either or both:

a ) there are no good nonadult programs
b ) nobody here is promoting any nonadult programs

Hooper, i've not really tried any to a level that i could offer much comment as to what's the best, but i have noticed a few things about mainstream programs ...

the main thing is the lack of 'zing' in the affiliate area, its like mainstream hasn't yet figured out how to hook webmasters (except for big programs like commission junction) ... the promotional tools (for really awesome products) are absolute crap most of the time which doesn't encourage me to promote many products ...

amazon is my favorite, which probably sounds lame, but they have some really cool marketing tools for any product you could imagine ... i like that i can choose ads to display via keyword so there's no work involved ;-)

imho the only non adult products that seem to have their shit together are those that are run by traditionally adult companies ...

you asked a general Q, which has no general answer.
targeting traffic on nonadult is even important than adult.

there are NO best nonadult sponsors, there are only best nonadult sponsors for your specific sites/traffic/niche.

Unlike adult there are about less than 10 affiliate networks like cj.com and linkshare.com and darkblue.com where about 85% of affiliate related traffic flows through.

Amazon has done very well for me. Dont expect much if you just chuck a few of their banners and buttons online. But if you integrate the tools they make available to truly work their database and backend into your site, they'll close the deal if you send 'em a qualified buyer.

And that's more than I can say for many mainstreamers.

hi CJ, i think all the big affiliate networks are about the same.
some offer large size ads, while others dont, also some offer a way to link to specific product or page. Not sure if all of the do that.

i havent found any of them hard to use at all, most are pretty simple.. but than again i only go in for banners, links and stats and dont care for anything else.

Thing to remember is if you dont have a lot of mainstream traffic or well targeted traffic its not easy to make any real $$ much like adult.

if you're looking for some non-adult sponsors, i use "psychic revenue".
The program is ran by "BPJ", he pays on time with no problems. I can convert at about 1/250 on straight se traffic. As long as you have traffic that's targeting females, you can make sales with this program easily.

last month, i converted at 1/339, but there was a lot of shit happening with google lately, so that ratio, i would say isn't actually true. Right now, i'm turning 1/280.

really? I've actually made a little bit of money with those cookie gift basket things by suggesting them on a christmas gift website. At the moment, i'm using comission junction for that type of thing.

Also, don't forget many of wishing.com's products are good for mainstream too.

So then slav, if i'm not wrong it sounds like expectations in adult for pay per acquisition are probably very low.

I've been surfing for days now... and the only nonadult program I have found that seems to be quite impressive as far as pps/ppa revenue is gotomypc, but i really wonder if conversions could be there at 20 bucks a month.

obviously i'm asking these questions because we are getting close to launching our nonadult affiliate program and i'm trying to figure out what to and not to do.

Mainstream is a completely different animal than adult....

Income wise, most mainstream "affiliate" type programs (CJ, Amazon, etc.) are laughable to the adult webmaster.

Stand alone type programs (cellular phones, insurance leads, etc.) generally require targetted traffic to work well...if you just throw up a page of mainstrearm programs you are going to be sorely dissapointed...

The good $$$ and good demand right now are for pop window inventory. We handle about 19mm mainstream pops/day and we are 100% sold out and have been for months. I've been in mainstream since 98 and it's the first time I've seen pricing for an ad method increase.

If you have mainstream pop windows, I'm buying.
