Serge's stock is tracing down. He can't carry a board anymore.
************************************************** *****

of course I can't!
but...I still have to keep the promise given to Jettis in Las Vegas and inform them that the third 3rd processing deal SINCE THE SHOW was sent to EPOCH via phone refferal and direct contact,
which would make their total month added business at 700-800 sign ups a day.

Makes my heart bleed....
;-))))))

Rand,
enjoy the fruits of your ad dollars on Oprano and of course call me a lier if what I just posted isn't true!

I'm working mainstream [with a former business partner]. I won't say what because I don't trust webmasters. Only one would have to pick up the phone and make a call to an agency [and make trouble for me].

hahahahahhaahahahahhahaah!!!!!

she writes for the audience she doesn't trust????

uh-uh-uh-uh! I think it's more the other way around
;-))

I, on the other hand,
TRUST webmasters and DO believe that at least one-two will bother to pick up the phone and call Elektra Records, Island Records, MTV and EMI
and inform them that the new 7X70 band is promoted by Serge, the pornmeister!
But for the love of God,
please, NEVER mention that to the fans on the internet music chat boards
;-)))

...but if you do,
here is the URL:

which should be used together with disclaimer attributted to my mother in law:

I don't understand when people are negative about messageboards. Fully 80% of Pleasure Labs business was obtained from deals with people met on boards - much of it new. The boards are alive and well. If one is not making money from one's contacts met on boards that is reflective of personal circumstance more than anything else.

I like Lee and don't mean to offend her. I just think she is wrong in presenting her personal situation rather than the actual possibilities that exist for anyone that really puts effort into it. There's a whole process from meeting someone on a board to actually doing business with someone but the boards are a great step one and very effective as such.

I don't read Setgo...and won't , so I didn't read the whole thread, therefore I don't know how much of what she said was taken out of context. I will say this much:

I owe Lee Noga a lot. She helped me make what was a small fortune (at least for me) back in 1997 with my audio cds.

That was the first time I realized that one could work for a couple of weeks and end up making 40K...that was very, very sweet money back then. Heck, I was making 6K a month working 16 hour days..this was gravy to me.

It was Lee's idea to produce audio for non-exclusive licensing to websites. Up until then, I had done some exclusive work for large websites, at 30-40 dollars per file, but I made close to 750 dollars per file HER way.

I wanted to price my cds at about 750 each..she said, "don't be INSANE...price them low and sell in quantity". She marketed my cds and I got paid for every sale, on time, until that crook Bonnie took over Zmaster.

Lee was a great inspiration to me in many ways. She was extremely innovative and although not all of her ideas made money, I imagine that I'm not the only person in this business that she helped out. Most have forgotten that, conveniently enough. How many of us had our first legal content from Zmaster?

But I digress. I agree with Colin's statement. The relationships that started for me on chat boards, including that which I formed with Lee, were the main reason I had the success I have had in this business. BUT.....

Quote:
I don't understand when people are negative about messageboards
I do..they can be very negative indeed when used the wrong way (HEQDVD for example)..and lord knows I was guilty of just that for a long time.

One has to realize that some of the people flaming them are cowards hiding behind a computer (I'm not going to mention any anonymous nicks here, lol) and not take the things they say seriously. It takes a long time to learn how to "consider the source". Even the most experienced among us fall prey to that.

Also, it entirely depends on the way the board is run. Some boards used to (and still do) exist just to flame other people and discourage newbies. A board that is there to foment webmasters conducting business with each other is a very positive thing. Boards that make people afraid to post for fear of being jumped on for any reason at all aren't productive at all except for the elite group of cronies that dominate them.

It's amazing how different many of us are in person as opposed to our personalities on these boards. Until I met a lot of the people I had "pissed" with on boards, I didn't quite get it.

It's so easy to sit behind a keyboard and blast away because you've had a bad day or it's fun to say something that will make your friends laugh. Many of the posters don't realize that their posts can actually wound people.

In a way, I can understand why Lee seems to be lashing out at everyone around these days..the hits she's taken have been pretty far below the belt in many cases. I don't agree with everything she says, but I have to say that I can empathize with her in many ways. I've been there.

And no, Sergey..I'm not going to say that you're the reason I'm still in this business, at least not again :P

Same here Colin.

I know she was hired by Meat and didn't do shit.
But yet, expected to get paid.

Funny how she gets pissed and tries to take it out on Netpond.

The only thing I just don't understand.
If Netpoond is dead.

Why does her employer think so highly of promoting CE on there?
Ummm...wouldn't that be a waste of money?

Maybe, I'm wrong

If Lee Noga is the gatekeeper, who is the keymaster? And who is Zuul? ( Ghostbusters)

Lee has never made it in the industry, she barely has 2 nickels to rub together yet was around almost at the time of its formation. She is a very bitter person ( she may have reason to be, I have no doubt she has been screwed over many times - but SHE puts herself in the situations).

She is just holding on, trying to scrape by with any living she can, and probably has no real skills she could apply to anything other then the adult online community.

So she will stay in the fringes, pop up every once in awhile - make some crazy comments, or try to promote some hairbrained sceme ( or scam), and try to make some money.

Is she a evil or bad person? Nah, I like her. She amuses me, and I think is a decent human being. But she is very bitter, and has no real status to make any worthwhile critiques of anyone or anything in this business.

I would imagine the newbies today, the TGP kids are doing better then she is.... I guess I would be bitter too.

The only gate she is keeping, is the exit gate - because she has been tossed, or flunked out of the game a long time ago.... When you see Lee at the gate on your way out, you knows its time to fold the tent!

Don't misunderstand me, Colin, I wasn't being critical of YOUR post..I was just quoting part of it to make a point about boards in general.

I think we all liked Miss Noga but, common you strart shit you get shit.

Why bashing people ???

There was no reason for it at all.

And I think Confucy is Lee Noga as I see the writing.

Lee worked with Luke - confucy loves Luke - Confucy says she is a writer - Noga is a writer.....

The more I think about this the more I think it is really pathatic....but it is funny if this is tru she fooled me big time !!!

i think messageboards are EXACTLY what you make out of them. messageboards are where most people are. all eyes are on you. how can you beat that in the real world of marketing without your own tv show or taking hostages?

Anyone that takes things said on a messageboard, especially negative stuff, personally, needs to have their head examined to be honest.

yes, introductions are made on boards, yes, reputations are still sometimes made on boards -- witness the boneprone retard fan club phenomena for instance --

but at the end of the day if you cannot separate board politics and stunts from real business and real situations then I am just amazed.

OK I just read that chat with DUC thingy. She's off her rocker this time. I wish for Lee that she would just settle down, work on business, and keep the dramatic initiative to a minimum...

KK, I couldn't agree more.

I truly believe there is good business to be done on the boards. That is why I spend so much time here.

You can't take the stuff on boards personally. It is bad for business. Board personalities are board personalities, and that is all.

I always add my two cents..

Truth be told, I think that people get out of the boards what they are looking for. If someone is looking to be a fool and do nothing but post jokes then obviously they're enjoying a message board as a social outlet. Each of us has that right! Here and there across all boards there are good, useful threads where there is something to be learned or some valueable information to be shared.

I'm new to this board but as many of you know I post frequently on other places. I've met Lee several times in person and we've always gotten along but I think it's premature to write off any of the boards as being places where business isn't getting done.

I've discovered with my posts elsewhere that tons of business is generated by the boards. Being able to take advantage of the opportunity is up to each one of us. There is this AMAZING silent majority out there of reasonable, rational webmasters... even quite a few that are hardworking and honest. These aren't always the people that are speaking up on the boards. However, I can say that I've enjoyed the response off the boards that I get (on ICQ and the phone) when I've taken the time to make posts of substance or opinion on different subjects.

Take Oprano, for instance. Any inference about a lack of growth means absolutely nothing to me, as I have come here as a new user. The reality is that I know every different board truly represents a different sphere of influence. For my time spent here to be worthwhile I need not be read by hundreds of webmasters... all it takes is one good relationship to make everything worthwhile.

Virtually all of us that do this for a living are workaholics. For me, my hobbies and my business are one in the same. So when I visit a place like a messageboard it is most likely dual purposed and functions as entertainment and a productive use of time for me.

Cheers,

Brad

t-rav, why can't you take board comments personally?? i do. especially if they were intended to be taken personally.

board personalities are just an extension of the real person ... and any person who uses the 'its just a message board' as an excuse for not behaving like a respectable human being is nothing but a coward with a keyboard.

i find nothing more insulting than someone who will name-call and big-note on a message board, only to back down when in person, or when faced with reason.

you may think there is a distinction between the way you behave on a board and the way you behave in person, but the difference between oprano and your average board is that we pretty much ALL know each other in person, so we know how to interpret each others 'personalities'.

any attack that becomes personal is usually intended to be so. we know each others wives, girlfriends, children's names, pets, sex lives, where we live etc ....

so t-rav, according to your interpretation, i can call you a fat lazy wife bashing republican with a little dick ... but don't be offended, its just a message board.

Exactly. Case in point. I recall in 2K Brad Shaw calling me a cunt on netpond. Shortly thereafter I met him in his booth in New Orleans..he was sweating bullets.

I walked up, smiled, said, "Hi, I'm Heather" in a friendly way. He went kinda cross-eyed and suddenly I was overwhelmed with his staff offering me every goodie in the booth as a distraction.

I guess he thought that I was going to punch him or something. Fact is, he pussied out, and I wasn't even being threatening. Prime example of someone that talks big on the boards but doesn't have the balls to back it up in person.

But when someone has met you and says something vicious and meant to hurt, I think it's pretty difficult to not take it personally. Cry over it and worry about it forever? No. But I do remember several people being upset, including a certain friend of mine posting not to take things personally, about some anon posts a couple of years back.

Hey, we all have feelings. If the person is just some nobody anon, no biggie, if you know them, it can be different.

I'd say so cj

Me, personally, I don't pay much attention to message board name calling etc, no matter who's doing it; generally things that are intended to be hurtful make me laugh. It's very easy to be a keyboard warrior, it's much more difficult to keep your hot little hands from typing something you might wish you hadn't said in most people's cases.

Good for you Heather - it is awful easy to get on the 'hate band wagon. She helped a lot of people and certainly was a innovator when 'content was king :-)

Lee is a very quick study, and very marketing savvy. (whether you agree with her or not) She also has the self confidence to "stand alone" in her opinions. I have known her longer than anyone on this board. She has went through a lot of things and many were life-altering, yet she was always there willing to help out other people. Most of all, Lee Noga is a survivor! I am not sure that I agree with her present course, BUT it is not my job to agree with her. This long thread and others is proof that anytime is she decides to create a little controversary - she CAN! She is the master at stirring up the pot..... and as Serge has always said "she can pee standing up" and I certainly don't feel sorry for her - she can take the heat in the kitchen better than about anyone I know. Love her or hate her - she is who she is , and that is a very unique and complex person.

and yes, she does have a mainsteam project that is keeping her quite busy at the moment.

Sharpie, there are 2 things in this world:
RESULTS and everything else,
and all the marvelous qualities you mentioned landed Lee flat on her ass flat broke...

People like DO need a pedestal to teach newbies how to succeed in this business...

Well Sergey, IF the present goal is to get hits and attention to AdultBuzz - that certainly was accomplished? Whether you agree with the content or not -
it happened and continues to happen. Setgo I am sure got some extra readership too. I call that RESULTS.....

As far as paychecks: Who owns AdultBuzz? Whose tagline does Lee use? I think I almost have this figured out :-)

Good morning to you too............. Naples had the high temperature in the country yesturday - about time!

There are those who say "any press is good press"!

Don't know that I agree, because I am too thin skinned - but I don't disagree with their right to say it, or believe it.

Such a georgeous day - got to clean my Lanai (and appreciate that maybe part of the reason that I can afford to have a 80 degree day in Feb, is partially due to knowing Lee Noga) One can't turn their back on something like that.
