one of my bosses was just asking me when I was going to be taking time off for Christmas.
English is not his first language so we were slapping back and forth about what days would I be taking off dec 24-25 or dec 25-26. I didn't really care which of those, I usually take Sundays off anyway so the 25-26 was an extra day and kind of appealing. Then he asked me what day was Christmas on...... I thought i misunderstood him, the whole lost in translation thing but no he was really asking me that I said Dec 25 and thought well D'oh and who is the ignorant turd in my story? ME! It turns out they celebrate Christmas on Jan 7th, a huge area does too and I had no idea!! so how alone am I? did anyone else realize this fact, that other people celebrated the exact same Holiday on very different days? spaz |

Your Boss is Orthodox?
Christmas isn't even truly suppost to be on the 25th of December, This Jesus person was born more closer around middle of May, December suppostly was a Roman Sun Gods Birthday till Christians twisted it all around, and the Noreigions came up with the Jolly Fat Man idea. Ethiopians (Genna)also celebrate Christmas on Jan 7 This is really cool, an earth date calendar: http://www.earthcalendar.net/index.php |
