The hypocracy of the American Government never fails to suprise and yet, not surprise me. That article does a great job of reminding people, what they can do to one, they can do to all.

War is war. It needs to be fought to win. Whatever means necessary to defeat the enemy. Period.
Porn is a different matter. I see no contradiction between the use of justified torture in Afghanistan and Iraq and the administrations fight against porn.

i love the fact that these conversations are usually imply that laws are not made by ELECTED officials and work their way through a pretty extensive system of checks and balances and due process. democracy at work is a bitch sometimes. you have to take the good with the bad. thats the deal.
if the whole country felt that the government was wrong about obscenity issues and new legislation... they would do something about it. however, it seems quite clear that the vast majority of the population either supports the administration in this area or could care less. ... so, welcome to a free democracy, representing the will of the people, working as perfectly as it can. i think bush is an idiot. but if he can push through legislation making it a federal crime to drink a glass of water and no one cares and it actually becomes law... then the problem is not bush. jmho

This is the same "populace" that causes chargebacks, because they don't want their wives, their mothers, whomever to know they are sitting at the computer buying memberships to porn sites. Who say they went bowling or whatever as to not they actually went to the live peep show or the strip club. Etc. So yeah, right, they're going to all write Congress? With their names attached? ROTFL! Come on now, JR. Everything else you said there is pretty much on the button, but -- you know, I know, we all know -- when it comes to porn that what people want is not something they will ever admit that they want. ![]() Not publicly, at least they won't. But by sales, privately and en mass, and to the tune of $10 billion+ yearly, by voting with their hard-earned dollars -- we know they want porn. Hell, we wouldn't be in this industry otherwise.
