I've never watched an episode of Deawood, The Shield, or The Sopranos. Watched the 1st season of 24 on DVD though but none of the other seasons. I saw in a NY Times article that HBO was planning on a series about ancient Rome that I thought would be very cool to watch.

Of course I like Er, law and order, etc. I watch news mostly. Oh I dig the heck outta Bill Maher on Hbo. Just saw him live last weekend. Smart, funny, etc.

We share a very similar taste in what I call quality television i.e: Stargate SG1, DS9, Enterprise, Battlestar Galactica, and I have to say I think you would like Deadwood. It's a great... no thats not right... it's a fucking excellent show.

I finally broke down and shelled out for digital cable and have been catching up on Deadwood and Carnivale on HBO on Demand and am loving them both...
