You are in the same boat as we are Dig, we have low chargebacks on 3rd party, and so far on our own Merchant Account. Of course we baby the account as much as well can.

One advantage we have so far is that we have no program open to webmasters - which saves us fraud from scheming webmasters.

my chargebacks stay low, my retention stays high, and everybody's happy :)

I think that if I want to pay per signup, and I do, I need to maximize the profit margin in every possible way and there's a good chance that the merchant account will really help to do that :)

Not many people have their own merchant accounts anymore...

One reason why 3rd party processing is sucking... when the big boys lost their own merchant accounts and had to move their DBs to third party processors.

I have my merchant account with them, and have been VERY happy so far.

Obviously they are a sponsor of Oprano, but I have been with Jettis 3rd party since day one... and with their Merchant Account set up since I got our merchant account.

Infact they helped us get our merchant account, and held our hands the while way.

the new software has been built for a long time but it's been one thing after another putting off the launch, hopefully we'll have everything ready to go soon.

I already have the merchant account, we just have to decide on which processor to use as a front. Have you seen the epoch contract for handling your merchant account transactions? it's like War and Peace!

I spent 5k on my attorney having him analyze and disect the Epoch contract they wanted me to sign for using them as a third party biller and we STILL never got an agreement hammered out.. might have to go thru it again with the new contract for the merchant account :/

but we had a golden retriever while we were in CA. It woulnd't stop barking.. the people we bought it from gave us the dog collar to try and stop it. I put it on the dog once and saw it freak out when it barked.. and it's yelps set the damn thing off even more..
