To whom it may concern:

I have recently read the cease and desist letter, which one Evan Horowitz, and his army of lawyers sent to my son. First I would like to say, that I have grounded my son for 2 weeks, all of his TV privileges have been taken away, as well as his cars. He will also have to spend 2 hours a day in “time out”. While my husband takes the position that “boys will be boys”, and that playground humor and trash talking are part of the male experience, I was shocked at the language my son used.

I do not know where he picked up his potty mouth, but I assure you I raised him better. I tried looking up the definition of “cockholster” in numerous periodicals, and even had my husband ask some of his old Marine buddies – however none of them knew what it meant. I have to assume it must not be too nice, if Evan’s attorney documented it in legal documents. What is even more distressing is the use of dirty words and my son’s utter disregard for grammar and spelling. After sending him to private school his entire life, paying for his undergraduate school, and helping him while he attended law school – surely my son would know how to use a dictionary. I have advised him that in the future if he is going to use foul language, at least spell it correctly.

My son was raised to be a gentleman. I taught my son not to pick on those who are less capable then he, who are “different” or maybe had a handicap or mildly retarded. Therefore, I must apologize to Evan and his family for the humiliation my son must have caused him for making fun of Evan’s differences, and personal “lifestyle” choices. While my son tried to offer the excuse that Evan brags about his drug use, and something he called “bubonic chronic” (You generation x kids are very hard to understand)

Regardless of what Evan does or does not do in private, my son should not be making fun of him. However, I will pass some advice on to you Evan. When someone is making fun of you whether it be calling you names or pointing fingers, the best way to handle it is the “Stick and Stones” principal.

In case you have not heard of it. “Stick and Stones will break your bones, but names will never hurt you.”

Another defense could be the “Rubber/Glue” theorem, which goes:

“I am rubber you are glue; what ever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you.”

I taught my children these lessons at a young age, and it has helped them move on and be successful in their lives. They are not hindered by name-calling and do not need lawyers to handle interpersonal relationships.

Mr. Joe Elkland and others from the business my son is in know me, and know that my son was raised to be nice to all, including those who are not as fortunate to be blessed with such intelligence. Speak with these guys and they will tell you; when I put my foot down my son listens.

Evan Horowitz, I hope you can take comfort in my son being grounded for calling you bad names. In the future instead of calling attorneys, you can call me at home and tell on my son if he is using foul language or making fun of you.
