JR I agree with you, there are so many people in this industry who would be serving fries at McDonalds if it was not for porn.

I have always said that the porn internet world is the most fragmented industry in the world. It is Balkinized to a point where there could never be any consensus or conhession as an "indsustry".

There are so many people making small to medium amounts of money $3k-15k a month who think they are wheelers and dealers and thus there own entity.

You can see it on the boards, but it is even better to see it at the conventions...

In a way I guess it is a good thing... of course the last convention in Vegas, had a lot less of these guys strutting around....

We are in an industry where everyone thinks they are VIPs - no matter if they make 50k a year, or 5 million... usually the 50k year people strut around the most.

Atleast the Lee Noga v. Slavik issue is a fair fight. I don't neccessarily agree with it.....but I believe there can be an honest disagreement and wipo can decide the outcome. Not that I have ANY faith in wipo making good decisions. They have a VERY POOR and INCONSISTENT record.

He's duplicated the form to register for Paypal and all the information goes to this guy's Polish email address. I have no clue how good Paypal's security is but I can see what this guy is up to. I've always wondered how Paypal works, seems to me to be full of potential problems.
How are chargebacks handled? Looks to me that there is no way if u sell something with Paypal you have any way of combatting someone out to rip you off, other than going to court wherever the thief is hiding.

This Polish guy once he has all his 'victim's' information can drain his bank account i think and max out his credit card buying shit online.

You are absolutely right JR. The solution is not easy. We cannot and should not be 24/7 babysitters for our kids. However, parents do need to take the major responsibility. First, in the form of education. Hell, I was brought up in a very liberal, permissive home. Playboy was not hidden and I was allowed to read it from a very young age and other than aspiring to be a bunny at the age of 8, I think I turned to be an extremely stable person.
Unfortunately, education will never be the solution; because the hypocritical, self-righteous moral majority are not the ones who are free enough to even talk to their kids about sex.
That doesn't mean that we as webmasters, shouldn't take on some responsibility as well, we should. Perhaps all free porn needs to be softcore only. That way if junior "accidentally" sees a great dane fucking a woman, it's because junior "accidentally" stole mom's credit card.
What about filtering software? Granted, it needs improvement, but studies have shown that the majority of parents don't use it. Why is that? They bitch that their kids are being exposed to online porn, yet they do not even bother to use the means to prevent it. Once again, they do not wish to take responsibility.

Ok, enough ranting. I just woke up, haven't even had my (******) yet and I need to go write the morning recap.

If the mark is not defended it could be lost, we have a mark that we cannot develop online because we do not possess the domains. This is not "bully" this is business.

Why should we not petition for domains when we locked up every classification in the adult industry when we applied in 1995, and one of the classes is telecommunication use of the "busty babes" mark [covers internet rights].

Its our mark, we want our domains, and "Busty Babe" is too similiar to our mark "Busty Babes". Its embedded in our mark, it has no leg to stand on.

Where do you get bully? We OWN the trademark that was APPROVED Jan 1997, 2 years after application. Whoever has the trademark gets the domains.

Slav, still going to do the WIPO thing [we got the mark approved in 1996], its on the things to do list. First is completing the settlement with the lawsuit against the old owners of Zmaster [Bonnie Murphy], then we move onto next legal issue, getting our domains back.
