yes it is sad. The world of the people relying on the SEs has changed dramatically with this shift to the DMOZ/AOL world. People who depended on SEs suddenly had to stop analyzing and start making galleries. Remember the good ol' "Click here for.." pages? These days, sooo much content is given away.

I think what you posted earlier is a sign. The webmasters who are going to thrive today, are not going to be holding their eggs in one basket. They may have tgp2 projects and SE projects. They probably will have more than one main sponsor, just in case of shaving/parties/processing, etc.

but the main thing is that the new webmasters who will succeed,will look for new ideas, and may be better able to handle change than old ones.

I'm still running numbers and will report as necessary but I now feel confident that the model of giving away less free content is substantially better than the one that gives away 25 free pics per gallery.

TGP2 needs a few more traffic-experienced webmasters. To date, TGP2 has attracted more gallery makers than TGP owners. The model is correct. The traffic is building but could move much faster with a few more players.

Toolz .. I agree 100%. I have more than 200k uniques daily TGP traffic and those 200k surfers suck. They suck bandwidth, don't click on sponsors, and don't buy anything. TGP1s exist mostly for cock-contests on SexTracker. The $/unique are horrible.

We placed a gallery on top of one of my TGP1s and one on top of my TGP2s. We used our own 4free proggy. The TGP1 gets more than 100k uniques/day. The TGP2 gets less than 10k/day. The TGP2 gallery made $22 (admittedly over a number of days). The TGP1 gallery didn't send a single click to the sponsor! That's bullshit. Model flawed.

This is some good evidence, as well as the thread late last week on GFY concerning this. After taking a minute to browse through the top 100 galleries getting hits on Bestsexhost.net I found some rather disappointing facts.
#1. The sites getting the MOST traffic where getting the lowest CTR's.
#2. The top sites are giving away the most pics, anywhere from 20-50 pics per gallery.
#3. The top galleries giving away the most pics were the ones listed at WorldSex, The Hun, Thumbzilla, etc.
There definetly needs to be some responsibility taken here and I don't see that coming from the TGP owners, they're making their money and could care less about the detriment to the industry this creates.

Why TGP2s are better than TGP1s.

TGP2 galleries, as we have previously shown, have CTR rates that are about 10x better than TGP1 galleries. These TGP2 galleries actually convert quite a bit better
than TGP1 also.

I have stats to present to everyone regarding the comparison of TGP2 compared straight to TGP1s. These are for the sites themselves and NOT the galleries. Many people have already presented evidence of the superiority of the TGP2 gallery to the TGP1 gallery. The stats are
for two of my TGP2s combined compared to one of my largest TGP1s. The link and sponsor are exactly the same on both and have the same placement. The number of clicks to sponsor was statistically significant.

On the TGP2s, CTR to sponsor was
1.5%

On the TGP1s, CTR to sponsor was .3%

This was actually somewhat surprising to me. Even though CTR on TGP2 galleries is 10x higher
than on TGP1s, I expected that CTR on the TGP2s themselves would be much more in line with that on TGP1s. It was surprising to find the same link in the same spot on TGP2s with 5x the CTR.

The conversion rates for these links were as follows:

On the TGP2s, sign-up ratio was 1/700.
On the TGP1s, sign-up ratio was 1/1500.

This was for a significant amount of traffic. I have been tabulating these results for over six weeks to get fair data. At present, I conclude that the value of a TGP2 surfer on the TGP2 itself is 10x that of a surfer on a TGP. This is the factor of 5x better CTR and 2x better sign-up ratio.

My data now shows that TGP2 surfers are 10x more valuable than TGP1 surfers on both the galleries and the TGP2s themselves. I believe the superiority of the TGP2 model to the TGP1 model has been clearly demonstrated.A model that depends on giving away 1000s of the same free pics that one intends to later sell and intentionally restricts the clicks sent to the sponsors is seriously flawed.
